Q:
Does Costco in Hawaii Kai rotate tires at no charge if I bought the tires from Costco!?
A:
Yes, they sure do and it's free as part of the purchase order. Every 5,000 is recommended. They will put a reminder sticker on the inside of your front window. Flat tires and a road hazard warranty are included as well… more

easy to make appointment; when dropping off your car, make sure you stand in the left side when you enter the tire department at Iwilei. car was finished in 90 min. went to Chungs alignment on Dillingham the next day. Tires were original and was time to change them after five years. Good value at Costco when there's a sale.

NIGHTMARE!!!!!! Total waste of time and the staff have no respect for your time or sense of urgency whatsoever
- Long line with or without an item - 30 minutes+
- 3.5 hours wait to replace 2 tires
- No stock of tires on hand
- They say to walk in but don't accept walk ins or don't have stock of anything you need!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1674541407Nov 29, 2024Updated review
A good deal, yes.
Free tire rotation with tire purchase, yes.
Service, beyond slow.
Tire rotation 2 hours, to pick up my keys in line it took TWENTY FIVE minutes! HOW?
Why???? Even though there's a separate line for purchases and pick up/drop off it's the slowest line in the universe.
I just need the keys and there's a wait. It's ridiculous. Yes, I'm aware of the wait, but just let us drop off and pick up quickly. It shouldn't be like this.
The worse part is they left me car a messed and stained my chairHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 2, 2024Previous reviewCostco tires is ALWAYS busy, so make sure you are patient and have time to wait in line...
I ordered my tires online, so I skipped that line. However, I couldn't get an appointment to schedule my installation, so I had to wait in line. When I was helped he said I wasn't able to book since the tires didn't came in.
When I took my car in, I waited in the appointment line which did take 20 mins for the worker to inspect my car and get my papers ready. The pick up was quicker but I did wait 30 minutes just because it was lunch time and I saw a whole crew of different workers. I was still in the quick appointment line but they are just short staffed. The worker that helped me during pick up said make the appointment online for my rotation.
I did try calling initially to make an appointment before doing it online and no answer. So just make an appointment online and skip the line - May 6, 2024
Ordered and paid for four new tires at Costco Tire Center (CTC) Iwilei.
I was scheduled a date and time to bring in my car into CTC for the removal of the old tires and placement of the new tires.
We showed up a little earlier than the 12:30 pm appointment time by @5 min. We waited in an appointment line for a very long time. Only two employees at the front service area. There was one person ahead of me. The person in front of me was called up @20 minutes later. Then I continued to wait. There was also a second long line of people waiting to buy batteries or schedule service.
Just as I thought it was my turn, as the employee Spencer, called out "appointment ", he walks behind me and takes a guy, telling me, oh he had an emergency?!? What? It's been over 40 minutes already. I had no say. The guy got helped before me.
Many of the customers were getting upset at the long wait time. I looked at Yelp reviews and of course the wait time and slow service is a top complaint here.
Long story short, I finally see an employee and they can't find my purchased tires?!?! It's way past 1 pm and the employee tries to get me to agree put on my spare tire and then come back much later... weeks later. I was told he would need to reorder my tires. I was already upset by the situation and asked to see the manager Brian or Ryan. I never saw him lol. I was told I couldn't get the tires. Mind you, I was shown and informed by the employee that there was a same set of 4 tires that were at the location, but unavailable to me, because it was marked for another customer who had purchased it several days after my purchase. I'm holding back at this point and I ask the employee who has been assisting me and disappearing intermittently throughout interaction, who else can I see.
I'm informed that I can ask to see the store manager Shelly. She is in the main warehouse of Costco. I ask him to call Shelly. I asked Spencer if he will be available to talk to her, and he informed me that he had to go to lunch.
Well, the short end of this story is that the manager got my tires installed today. Thank you Shelly.
This was a debacle. The CTC needs to be reviewed by the higher ups. New protocols are needed. There are many reviews regarding similar issues I encountered here at CTC.
Costco tire Center Service: 0/5 stars
Store manager Shelly service 5/5 stars
Ambiance: 1/5 small area to stand in lines for service. There are no chairs for anyone to sit down during the extreme wait times. The smell of tires are pungent throughout the place.
Quality: unknown. Need to test the tires out.
Value: 3/5 stars. It costs over $900 for 4 tires and service here.
Suggestion: Implement a number system where you call people's cell when you are ready to serve them. That way, the customer may sit outside in the open air. CTC needs a better appointment system and tire purchase and marking system to ensure that the buyer's purchase is not mislabeled, or misplaced or ??? to prevent whatever happened to my purchased tires.Helpful 28Thanks 8Love this 15Oh no 15 - 903121573May 15, 2024
I think I've seen grass grow faster...
Not trying to be mean but I also am not exaggerating. Like many other customers, we waited for over 30 minutes for a few minute-battery transaction.
But you know what's sad? If you want a decently priced battery, you have no choice. And they know it. Which is why they don't improve services, processes and customer service. Simple and true.
I mean, sure we could go elsewhere, but it doesn't come with the guarantee and benefits at that price. If there is another place that does, share the scoops lol
Anyways, no further justification is needed for one star. But just thought I'd leave another review so that other people out there know that they're not the only ones who see what's going on here.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - 100915177687Nov 14, 2023
Service was great. The staff were great. Spencer helped me more than once. However, they're understaffed and I kinda feel bad for them because they're running around like chickens without heads! The staff really tried their best to help all the customers but the line just kept growing longer and longer with the limited staff. I hope they hire more people.
Don't trust their time estimate. First time here I was able to get my tire fixed in 1.5 hours. Second time here to get all 4 replaced, I was quoted a 3 hour wait, but it ended up being 7 hours. Good thing I took a Lyft home.
You can't beat Costco tires prices. I also got it when there's a deal going on. $750 for 4 all-season tires for a regular small SUV. I'm not sure how Sam's prices compare to theirs...
Anything wrong with the tires down the road, you can bring your car to Costco but good luck getting a spot. Maybe try early in the morning on a weekday?
This Costco is always like a zoo. So just have the right expectations.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Dara L.Urban Honolulu, HI020Nov 21, 2024
If I can give a zero, I would. What's the point of making an appointment if you're standing in line for 30mins to get your car checked in, 2 hours for a tire rotation, and another 30-45mins to check out your car.......

tip #1: order your tires online
tip #2: make your appointment online
tip #3: if appointments are unavailable go at least 45 min before opening. if you are one of the first 4 people, they will take you.
follow these simple tips and remember never walk into the tire center without an appointment unless you are waiting early before opening and one of the first 4 in line.
do this and you will have a decent experienceHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Nov 6, 2019Previous reviewI have a Nissan nv200. They don't have this tire in stock. I first called and was quoted a price. They couldn't order it until it was paid for and they don't take cards over the phone. Not even their own branded Visa card. Which makes no sense because obviously because you can order stuff from Costco.com
So I went down early on a Sunday morning to pay for the tires. After waiting for 40 min I finally was helped only to be told that they can't confirm the tires are even available
On tirerack.com there are 5 tires that fit my vehicle available for immediate shipment. Costco has one option: Michelin.
So basically this was a waste of an hour. The people there are friendly enough. The girl wanted to see the car (why?) take down my mileage (why?) and proceeded to very slowly fill out a sheet so her boss can find out an ETA
My advise - if they have it in stock, great. You'll save $$. Get there 20 min before opening if you don't have an appointment. If it's a special order don't bother.
Very disappointing this place sucks so bad because the rest of Costco is
**Update: the tire shop manager was supposed to call me back on Monday to tell me status of the tires I need but of course he didn't. I can't articulate how bad the tire shop is compared with the warehouseNov 3, 2019Previous reviewI have a Nissan nv200. They don't have this tire in stock. I first called and was quoted a price. Be prepared to stand in line for a long time if there's more than 1 or 2 people ahead of you. I was 6th in line and have been here for over an hour. Each person takes at least 15-20 mins to check out and there's only 2 people behind the register. All I needed to do was buy a battery for my car. Costco really enjoys making their customers wait in ridiculously long lines.
I will say the workers are very nice but stressed out. I feel bad for them and all the elderly people standing in line for more than an hour.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 14, 2023
-5 STARS! DO EVERYTHING ONLINE. Went in @9am to try and get 4 new tires for my sedan. Waited about an hour to see the next available tech, in this case was Spencer. He then tired to help me and the person on the reg next to him at the same time for the next 15mins.
I last had Michelin tires, but he said was discontinued. Then I asked if he had any BF tires, he said let me check and said no more. BUT was on sale and said he would try ordering them. He quoted me about $630. When he got on the phone the first time, the person on the other side said no more, BUT had the next one up for about $700. I said ok and order them. While waiting to confirm, the person next to us was having trouble getting the order done so Spencer was trying to multitask. Maybe 5 mins of that and he finally hung up the phone and tried calling again, BUT this time he didn't get to speak to anyone AND WHILE on this second call was still helping the person next to us.
Ultimately, he said the ordering system is down, the quotes he gave me were for the Bridgestone tires and not the BFs I asked for, gave me a part number and told me to order the tires online myself. REALLY? I waited 75mins to hear that? Costco needs to do something about this in-person center, they just lost another customer! Pau!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 2
