I've taken my car to these folks for a few years and even used them for an inspection when I sold the car to a new owner. They are experts at what they do and charge fair prices for the work they do. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wondering about finding an honest shop for a specialty car. Customer service is fantastic and the work they do is complete and competent.

Note: this is not a review of this place, but about the leadership/owners they have ... and I can imagine how good the service is from what I read here !
2 weeks back, I needed an airport drop and called Uber - a Mercedes S class pulled over and went to MSP in a merc for $35 ! On the drive - found that the driver owned Imola - first I thought he was faking, but he is a genuinely curious and an interesting guy who does Uber sometimes just to meet people.
Again - sorry if I am flooding the review system, but I thought it is worth noting that Imola is under a good leadershipHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lars K.Minneapolis, MN361532Jan 19, 2018
They did a great job taking care of a thermostat issue that had been plaguing the ol' M3 for a while there for six hundred bucks. It is a relatively new car which is high mileage so maintenance is important. They actually detailed the exterior as well! The car is good and runs great now. Thanks guys! Diagnosis costed slightly more than a hundred bucks

Where do I even begin with the excellent customer service? I needed to get a transmission flush and rear diff fluid change on my Mercedes. I called to get a quote, T.J was my advisor. He had to look into the pricing per VIN. I didn't expect to hear back as soon as I did. T.J sent me an email within 30 minutes! I am used to waiting hours for a quote. I set an appointment up and they were very lenient with days and times. They will also send you an email confirmation along with a nice text! Fit my schedule perfectly! They do not have rentals, but they are partnered up with Enterprise.
The building is hard to miss at the end of the road behind Holiday Gas Station and next to Lucky's. They have their own private lot filled with nothing but beautiful, luxurious vehicles. Inside it is very modern, and urban. Greeted right away I was checked in. They have an AMAZING waiting lounge. Nice private and clean lounge. They offer Starbucks coffee along with a delicious soda machine. They serve Pepsi products. Instead of a cheap disposable cup, you get a nice plastic, reusable, Imola cup to fill your drink of choice in. They have a huge flat screen TV along with nice, clean, black leather couches for you to lounge in while you wait for your vehicle.
Service doesn't take too long. They will call to let you know when your vehicle is done if you do decide to leave. When I wen to pay for my services, they basically charged me for what they quoted. Not a penny more. They also explained what they did and checked my vehicle to make sure everything was working properly and no replacements needed.
These guys definitely know what they are doing.

I went to an appreciation even that Imola put on for MNBMW. During the event I set up a post purchase inspection for my newly acquired e90 335i 6mt.
I had my appointment yesterday and I was beyond impressed with the level of service and attention that both my car and I recieved. I now have the "laundry list" of items to do, peace of mind knowing that I made a solid purchase, and direction for mods that I would like to do in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jasper B.Minneapolis, MN070Apr 26, 2018
Always wanted to visit and try this local auto service company (love to keep the $ local); and I had the opportunity to purchase an interior/exterior wash on an a recent purchase of a U.S. import convertible. As I talked with the staff and the service for that, thought I had established what would be a long relationship for vehicle maintenance, including my E500. Those hopes were dashed yesterday after asking about some work to be done; the lady at the entrance said - we work on imports; we don't work on that model twice. Which would have been fine had she asked what I actually wanted done. A second guy was more helpful but in the end, that experience will not allow me to visit them again. A fundamental was missed: understand what the customer wants/needs, find a way to help them, or send them to someone who might be able to.

The guys there are nice and they appear competent, but they lack in understanding the safety concerns customers have.
I chose this shop over others because 1) the dealership I purchased my car at recommended them and 2) the shop has excellent Google reviews, therefore, I decided to bring in my BMW X5 for a moonroof replacement (because it unexpectedly exploded while I was driving on the highway with my two year old son). All was "okay" until I picked up my car after the repair was completed, got on the highway to go back home and decided to play around with the panoramic moonroof. ummm... That's when I realized what a shitty job they just did. The inside cover had difficulty opening entirely due to small glass pieces interfering on its track. Also every time I kept opening and closing I could hear glass particles grind or scratch the cover. Eventually, after opening and closing the cover about 10-15 times it finally opened up completely.
next, I decided to open the panoramic window.. yeah... I didn't open past 1/4 of the way. -_-
I was super pissed - yeah these guys seem competent and are nice, but what they appear to not know is that families own luxury cars too and we have busy lives; child care is hard to find at such last minute and it costs money and time.
It's obvious the shop didn't double check their work after completely the repair because there were quite a few of glasses pieces stuck on the track of the panoramic window AND they did a shitty job cleaning up inside the car because there were glasses pieces in my cup holders, navigation screen and on the floor! I have kids.. So having sharp tiny glass visible is a huge deal for me. I'm just glad I took out the car seats, who knows there could have been small glass on the car seats too.
Overall, I was not happy with this place regardless of how great of reviews were on Google. I guess this shop's service is a hit or miss. Last thing they "offered" was a poor "car wash". I could see the left over towel drying off the windows and the dirt on the sides of my car are still there.
In comparison with some other shops I've experienced in the past: Honda Dealership was good to my car but not as welcoming, Sears was good to my car but terrible front desk service.
I'll most likely take my repairs and maintenance elsewhere..Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maxwell S.San Francisco, CA010Apr 19, 2018
Don't go here for a pre-purchase inspection. I recently purchased a Porsche 911 that had extensive work done by Imola (around $7000 in the last 2 years). I figured they know the car and with the level of cars that are brought to them it would make sense to have them do the Pre-Purchase Inspection before i bought the car.
I wish i would have gone somewhere else... within the first week of owning the car, Check Engine Light came on. Although i don't fault them for this - I'm assuming it had more to do with the limited miles that the previous owner put on the car.
Where I do feel like I was ripped off is the fact that they didn't bother to pull codes - several other shops have told me this is standard practice for PPI's. There where misfire codes dating back thousands of miles. If i would have known that, i don't know that I would have purchased the vehicle for the same price.
They also didn't inspect by the battery or test it. If they would have (standard PPI practice), they would have noticed a rats' nest.
If they're cutting corners on PPI's, I worry about what else is being overlooked. The good news is they warranty the work that's been done, so the leaking radiator that they just replaced is covered...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark G.Minneapolis, MN070Apr 16, 2014
I brought my TT in for a software performance upgrade. I wanted them to demonstrate to me using a Dyno machine the actual output BEFORE and AFTER
the software upgrade so I know what it is I am paying for. They brought the car into a working bay, plugged it into a small handheld device (similar to a tricorder used on Star Trek) and in 5 min. unplugged this device and gave me my car back and said it was completed and charged me $600. I have absolutely no idea what they did or even if the car was actually changed. When I drive it, I can't feel much difference and they said the performance gain should be 10%. I wouldn't recommend the shop and I think that you better be careful before shelling out lots of $$$$$ to these guys!!!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Mark,
A software flash takes 45-60 minutes, which we charge less than 30 minutes of labor for. The device used is to properly read and write the software off of the engine computer. It changes the boost pressure, which is where the gains on that engine come from. After installed, the vehicle is logged with a diagnostic computer to verify it is running the correct higher pressure before being sent off. The software has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee as well.
We do not have a Dyno, and never have. Graphs are provided by the software company to show the delta between stock and modified software. There are multiple small shops around town that have a dynamometer to show the gains on any vehicle. We have never advertised to have a dyno.
