Does the crab Rangoon have any scallions or onions? I'm looking for good crab Rangoon that is literally JUST crab and cream cheese! Can't find them anywhere!

Literally just had some about an hour ago, and I can say that if they are in there you can see them or even notice any big chunks, so they might be minced so fine that they are there but unrecognizable, But I would hate to say No and then it be an… more

I can't get enough of this place. I went a few times last winter and their inside is wild. They have fountains and a boat theme inside. They food menu is so large but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I went today for their bingo night outside. The MC was incredible and bingo was so much fun even though I didn't make it to the finals. They have lots of drinks, a champagne bar and a dj.

My friends and I slip crab ragoons, tangerine chicken and sushi. It was great to split because the plates were so big. We all got drinks and they were very strong.

At the end of the night we all bought t-shirts, they had a large selection of them.

Maybe this place is a little cheesy but I absolutely love it and it is a must try if you are in the area.

I really wanted to love this place since so many people talk about it and the parking lot always seems full when we drive by. But I found it meh. We got some basics like crab rangoons, ribs, and chicken wings and it was ok but I sadly wouldn't go back.

I did think the atmosphere was cool and it is a great place to have a party. Many other families were there having graduation gatherings.

Ok so we went here after an event at The Garden and it's 15 mins away. So we show up at 11:30 and we are seated. Are waiter was epic. Told jokes and had a great time with us. Most of the dining rooms were closed but the bar was awesome and there is so really neat ambience here. We had passed this place on our was to The Garden and the large parking lot was full.
We ordered a bunch of appetizers and an order of chicken lo mein. Wow the wings were amazing!

Great service waiter kept coming over and telling jokes.

Definitely would NOT recommend. They take out money but act like it's a problem when we need something or what we paid for is not up to par. They'll bring reheated / burnt food to your table and won't bat an eye & they are cheap with napkins, condiments, water, etc

I asked for napkins and he reaches out over and grabs two off the table, One for each of us I guess smh

I ordered the peninsula Pupu platter and it came with the HUGE ribs, two random fried wontons, burnt fried shrimp, burnt chicken "fingers", burnt egg roll, no crab Rangoon, & under cooked chicken wings.

I ordered the beef lo mein and that was nasty & oily.

The salt and pepper shrimp had no salt, no pepper, nothing just garnish under them.

I ordered pork fried rice & they brought me shrimp fried rice : I tell him I didn't order that and he told me I did lol. So he ultimately takes it and brings back pork fried rice & it was cooked correctly

Ordered scallion pie and they brought a small bowl of soy sauce & duck sauce for all of our food

I mentioned the quality of my food to my server and he only said okay and walked away then he brought back the bill, with no modifications. Did not take that burnt food home

The crab Rangoons were just cream cheese barely any "crab"

Just don't do it. This place has fallen off tremendously & the service is horrid

After hearing about this MA institution from several friends, I had to visit during my trip. The atmosphere is so fun and leans heavily into the tiki theme. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our server/bartender, Chris Y, was so nice and funny, he had lots of great drink recommendations served up with a bit of humor.

The food was delivered quickly and piping hot. The General Gau Chicken had a balanced flavor and wasn't overly sweet. The beef & broccoli is a pretty solid standard with super tender beef. I also ordered the salmon sashimi and it was among the best I've ever had. The pieces were huge and flavorful. I was surprised (pleasantly) by the portion size. It was excellent value for the price.

The drinks were good though not as strong as they could've been. That didn't diminish the experience at all though - they were fun and flavorful. Anything off the tiki drink menu is a win as far as I can tell.

Upon review of the 1 star reviews - I can only imagine that you'd be disappointed to order American fare (chicken wings, chicken fingers) at a Chinese restaurant. Would you order Singapore noodles at Cheesecake Factory?

AN ABSOLUTELY MUST DO! ONE OF AMERICA'S MOST ICONIC & LANDMARK RESTAURANTS IS ABOUT TO DISAPPEAR! It won't be entirely gone but will be reinvented. The World Wide Tiki Community & the city of Boston is mourning the Loss of the Kowloon Restaurant ! 2 & 1/2 STARS for the Food but Multiple Bonus points for this Cool, Unique, Quirky, One of a Kind, Over the Top Roadside Attraction! The 70+ year old Gargantuan Polynesian Themed Kowloon Restaurant will be turned into a mixed use space which will include commercial, retail & luxury apartments too. There is a glimmer of hope however. Although the original will be gone - a smaller version of Kowloon will still remain. Boston.com is reporting. Visit them for more details. They still have some permits to acquire before this all takes place. YOU STILL HAVE A COUPLE OF YEARS TO GET HERE BEFORE CONSTRUCTION BEGINS! VISIT SOONER RATHER THAN LATER! PLEASE PUT KOWLOON ON YOUR BUCKET LIST! You don't come here for the food but for the Kitschy, Off Beat, a little bit Tacky but feels So Good Retro Experience. They have FREE PARKING here too!
It's Time to jump into The TimeMobile & scour the Earth & take you to places from a different time that you won't believe still exist.
We have set the dial to 1950 in the town of Saugus Massachusetts on Rt. 1 right outside of Boston. The Wong Family opened this restaurant that was originally called The Mandarin House & served some 40-50 customers. William & Madeline Wong bought out the 1st generation owners in 1958 & began the 2nd generation of the restaurant. They did a name change & Kowloon was selected with a brand new moniker & signature logo. Now for the next 50 years, the family started expanding. They ended up adding 5 additions to the original structure. They increased the capacity to seat a Whopping 1,200 diners. The place is Huge! They have multiple themed dining rooms including the The Tiki Lagoon, The Mandarin Room, The Thai Grille, The Volcano Bay Room, & the Hong Kong Lounge. They also host Private events & even had Disco themed nights on the Dance Floor in the past. They also have a comedy club that uses the Luau Room. There are also Concerts here too. During the Pandemic they set up outdoor dining, had a Car Hop & an Outdoor Drive-In Movie Theater also. They serve Cantonese, Szechuan, Thai, Japanese, Sushi & American Chinese food. They now have a menu of nearly 300 items.
The third generation of the Wong family continues to run the business but family will be semi retiring. It's saying Goodbye to the Past but Hello to the Future with a reinvention of the space & the restaurant will continue on in a smaller version. So when you visit here be sure to scope out every inch of this place to get that kitchy 50's, 60's & 70's vibe. Be sure to check out the walls to see all the celebrities photos who have visited here for generations. The Rock has been here, so has Jerry Seinfeld, Ron Gronkowski former Patriots football player, The Cowsills, Phyllis Diller. There's an endless parade of celebrities, rock stars & sports figures especially wrestlers who have stopped in here over the decades. The new Kowloon will be a 350 seat restaurant which is still big, but it's a small shadow of the 1,200 seats that they currently have now. Well at least it's not going to bulldozed & forgotten. People should be happy about that!
Fans of Tiki & Don the Beachcomber in Huntington Beach CA have to put this one on their list. Fans of the old Trader Vic's which is still around in a few locations & has an online store now, need to come here as well. Fans of The now closed Trader Vic's in LA, New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Boston, Seattle, Texas, Arizona, Oregon. Detroit, Missouri, Florida, Nevada, Canada & other locations would love to know there is still a place like that which still exists at least for a few more years. Kowloon is a beloved restaurant that is adored by locals & celebrities, rockers & sports figures not so much for the food. They frequent here simply because places like this don't exist anymore! So many weddings, receptions, proms, & other events have been celebrated here by countless people & their families & friends. What a Rich History this place has & is So Much Fun! Be sure to stop on by for a bite to eat or a drink or to see a show or purchase a T Shirt or a souvenir mug from this Institution. Otherwise you'll be watching a YouTube video about the Kowloon a few years from now & kicking yourself & saying I was such an idiot for not going to that iconic restaurant at least once in my life! It's Sad that this is the End of an Era!
It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can

They don't make restaurants like this anymore. Upon arrival, the building is unique and just as unique inside. We arrived for dinner while passing through town, I'd seen it before on a previous trip and made a point to stop this time.

We were sat immediately and our sever was friendly and prompt. The food portions are huge and all our dishes were great. I'd say the Lo Mein was my favorite.

I heard they'll be downsizing the size of the restaurant so go now while it's still in its original form.

Was recommended to dine here from an Uber driver, that it was a must while visiting here in Boston. First timers here from Texas and was excited to try it out. First impressions are everything and our server was rude our entire experience. We got told they close in 30mins when asking if we were ready to order, we didn't get asked if we wanted drinks, things were abruptly placed on the table without a mention as to what it was. He never checked on us for refills and was literally only "nice" when giving us our bill. Food was 2/10.

Just went to Kowloons, Saugus ma last night with 3 friends. We have some drinks, apps and ordered quite a bit of food. Our waiter numerous times asked us if we were done because there were people waiting for a table. He told us we were taking too long and needed to finish up. He was rude and this was the worst waiter I have ever had. When we paid the bill he told us to wait for him to count the money so that he could make sure it was all there.
I could not believe how we were treated there. I won't miss that place when it closes!

This place was packed on a Saturday night. we were seated in the back dining room and there were at least 6 elderly birthday parties going on. The drinks were not very good. I had Zombie that was bad, tasted like spoiled orange juice. the Mai-tai was to sweet. neither drink was close to the proper recipe. They have mugs available for sale but the waiter did not bring the correct mug both times and had to be exchanged. The food was decent for Americanized Chinese food and they have an extensive menu. We had the vegetarian "ravioli" aka dumplings, the fried chicken dumplings along with the vegetable lomein and chicken pineapple.
