There's so many kids in this club, I'm surprised there aren't more reviews than 26. This club was recommended to me as they mentioned Coach Emre is really great at teaching the kids the fundamentals of soccer. My 8 year old loves soccer. He's obsessed. We are so happy that we started here. TIPS: the parking lot is chaos. The traffic with the basketball court next door and their tournaments going on and starting and finishing the same time as soccer practice is insane. Be prepared for that. Another tip is that the indoor soccer arena is freezing! Bring puffy coats, a.beanie, a scarf and gloves. We did winter soccer so maybe it's not bad in the other months. (You're in a small lobby area and probably won't be able to actually see your kid practice, a lot of people drop off their kids or wait in their cars, some people are just on their cell phones or reading a book) Also: it is not always indoor soccer. They have our kids play outdoors at a large field, yes, even dealing with moderate weather elements (nothing extreme). Don't be fooled by the "indoor" soccer. But the kids love being outside. And bring your own chairs! A lot of parents volunteer which is fantastic. The app they use to communicate is very easy. So far so good, we will continue and now my son is transitioning to the Strike Program. Thank you Coaches!!!

If you're interested in having your child be ignored then send them here. Our Son was here for 2 years and I can tell you the coaches never knew his name. This place is just a cash cow with zero intentions of coaching or training. They didn't even notice we have left the club we continue to receive invites and notifications on chats as if we are still apart of the club. That's how much they care. If you're enrolled in the club and they mention try-outs please know that they will not prepare the kids for this. So prepare them to be disappointed unless you know the coaches personally they will not have a chance to succeed.

if I could give this person zero stars I would. I have my 6 year old granddaughter for the weekend and have never been to this facility. At 6:20pm she and I were looking for her area on the fields and a man who was coaching another group begins yelling, which I guess was at me, telling me to let my granddaughter go. I understand that there's a "normal process", but she didn't know where to go and didn't see any of her normal friends so she got in line with HIS group of older boys and he continues to focus on me telling me to leave instead of helping her, even though I could clearly see she was in the wrong group. I tried to tell him that I'm grandma and we're new and I want to make sure she got to her correct spot safely, and this guy says, "if you don't feel like she's safe then take her and leave". this was absolutely not what I said, but he was so worried about telling me to let her figure it out and telling me to leave that she just stood there with these older boys. There's a way to speak to people and this guy needs some training of his own. Take the time to figure out what's happening sir And FREAKING HELP instead of yell. Then a volunteer coach came over to me to basically provide an excuse for why this coach acts this way and says "he's passionate", um that's not passionate, it's rude, unprofessional and not warranted.

Placer United is an awesome league. It's not necessarily for parents who just want to pay and drop off their kids and expect others to do everything, but if you're interested and involved then you will learn great techniques to practice in your own time as well.
Emre cares about fostering a real love of the game, and creating independent thinkers on the field- not just robots who do whatever the coaches yell from the sidelines. The way the league is set up, there is something for every level of player- grassroots, transition and comp. Players are put in the proper level, so they can actually play and learn- not just be bench warmers on a team they can't be competitive in.
The indoor facility is Great, and rotating outdoor fields allows the grass to recover at multiple locations. It really is done with thought and intent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mandee T.Venice, CA18102Nov 7, 2022
If you are looking for good training with positive role models look elsewhere. I would NEVER recommend this league. Only looks like gold and diamonds on the outside inside its fake.

Was really unimpressed with Placer United. We signed our daughter up to play soccer here in the Spring.
Emre whom runs the program, is very intense, his personality is not for everyone. He has very strong views and rules that you may or may not be ok with.
The program is run with parent coaches and you either volunteer or hope your child gets a good "coach" aka parent - which is not for everyone. We will not be returning this spring, we're going to try the indoor league at Cal Fit instead.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Ivan 1.San Francisco, CA010Oct 23, 2021
We thought that this club had a good the coaches, that teach the kids techniques and strategies, but it was not like that. After almost two years in the club, the team never won a game , the children were lost in the field , they did not learn to defend or mark anyone in each game. Children left frustrated and angry. The only thing that the coach told them was that it was their fault without changing the type of training or the game strategy. NO making himself responsible for anything. Several parents spoke with him but he always denied any kind of questioning or responsibility that was made. My boy was in ECNL supposedly it is a good competitive level. But the coach Matt Scammacca is not at that level. In 2 years the boys did not learn anything new that makes them grow strategically so that they can improve their abilities and be better players.

Hey "coaches"...where you at? Oh...too busy gossiping in your little circle of girls.
Hey "coaches"...did you see that foul during practice?
Of course not because you are too busy eyeballin the teenage chicks across the field.
Hey "coaches"...can we get some training that we PAID for?!
Coaches?

When during the indoor "league" they have it so off-balanced that comp teams are playing 1st year rec leagues and wonder why even "mercy rule" is being applied before the end of the first half. Disgusting, not teaching anything except off balanced scoring. This is a place that my son will never be in a league for. It's far from worth any money.

Well I suppose only 5 reviews should say something. But I hope to share some insight as a warning to other parents looking for a local competitive soccer club. Don't have your child play for Placer and risk them losing their love of the game. That's what Placer did for mine. If you don't value truth, integrity, honor, or character, then Placer may be the club for you. If you're the type of parent who will never voice concerns over coaching or customer service, then Placer may be a good club for you. Just realize if you ever say anything, it will be taken out on your child. That's the kind of people you have running this club. If you don't mind paying every month to financially subsidize the top team coaches, even though your child wasn't on one of those teams and never received any benefit of those top team coaches, then Placer may be your club. If you like hearing excuses Placer may be your club. Placer hasn't been the only club my child has played for, so I'm just telling you there are much better options with clubs that value integrity and true team building at a much better value. I've paid thousands of dollars over the last couple years to Placer and now can't even get a courtesy return call. So now I'm writing this. Placer claims it puts players first. That is the farthest thing from the truth. They are even too cheap to pay for three referees at games. Every other club is professional enough to have three at their games. It makes a difference, although Placer claims it doesn't. If it doesn't make a difference, other clubs wouldn't do it either. When I say Placer as a club, realize there are really only four people that run everything. They make decisions based on what's best for them. Period. Upset them, well, I think you get it. They may have a warehouse to practice at sometimes, but they don't heat it or cool it. They are also one of the few clubs that doesn't have its own dedicated outdoor facility despite very expensive monthly dues. They used to have a poster of their 'coming soon' facility that was supposed to open years ago. They finally took it down. Clubs like San Juan have a gorgeous new facility. Davis also has a beautiful facility. But Placer can't manage to get one together. A lot of parents have taken their children and left due to the above issues and more. It was really noticeable at the full club photo shoot over the last couple of years. Dwindling club size because it's being run so poorly and unethically. There are a few quality coaches in the club, but it turns out their leaders just aren't good people, just greedy. Too many of the coaches just do what they are told. Right or wrong. The top team coaches are salaried enough to make this their full time job. Most of the coaches however are paid a minimal stipend and have real jobs. Again, the lower teams pay for the upper team coaches but will rarely see them. They really don't seem to get how to be loyal and get loyalty in return. True leadership is beyond their grasp. It's really their lack of moral courage to even provide honest feedback after several attempts to get it that deserves to be called out. I want to point out that I know my child wasn't the most talented player on the teams. But they did give their heart and effort to the team and the coaches. They were among the leading scorers on the team, were at every game, played with heart, was fast, and told by the coach they were his 'fixer', was a starter all season. If there was a problem on the field, my child would go in and fix it for the coach. My child even got a glowing year end review from the coach. But that didn't matter when an agenda is involved. My child got cut not due to skill, they were consistently one of the better players on the field, but because I made the powers that be uncomfortable by asking them to provide better customer service and better communication. What really upsets me is that an injustice was done to my child and no one in the club has strong enough values to return my calls. Again, Placer does not put players first. They are driven by self promoting agenda and/or incompetence with a little dishonesty thrown in to round out the package. In the end, my child learned a few valuable lessons from Placer: how not to treat people, life isn't fair but you can always bounce back, always have the moral courage to do the right thing. Well, I hope this has helped make some decisions for you. All the best. And keep loving the beautiful game.
