Proto's Pizza NYC

Something possessed me to order chicken bbq even though it's not my favorite, and OMG it was so good. Not greasy, the chicken was not rock hard, the bbq was clearly present but did not take over the pizza.

Best bbq chicken pizza ever. Should I convert...?

Service was efficient, pizza came out quickly, and there us a $5 minimum when using card. Any of their signature pizza slices are $5/slice so that worked out.

Stopped in for a quick sandwich before an event. Fast service, fresh food, exactly what I needed

Decent lunch special, 2 slices get a soda for free. Appreciate the service, I was unaware of the lunch special and offered to pay for the drink but he did not take advantage lol. Just a few tables inside and more outside, which is worth noting on a cold day. Bottom of crust was very crispy more than I normally like but overall still good

I was going to be in the area so I wanted to pick up something that wasn't cumbersome to carry back home.
I got spaghetti and meatballs based on the great reviews....It could've used a bit of parmesan cheese and a lot more sauce over the meatballs. It was just alright...With all these 5 star reviews, I really expected a lot more. L didn't even like the meatballs. He said it was gamey. I added my own pasta sauce to make it more palatable for him. They're also not soft, fork tender balls which I guess is the basic pizzeria meatball. I'm not saying it was a bad dish, but it's not 5 stars.
Portions are smaller than what we're used to since it's in the Village but meatballs are a decent size. Staff was pretty nice.. might try their pizza next time.

Their pizza may be fine, but their spaghetti is the ABSOLUTE WORST. Beyond awful. Tastes like spaghettios.

They should also take it easy on their techno music. A big screen features some demonic head.

Overall, everything about this place sucks.

New owners are great guys! Their pizza is still great (best buffalo slice in the east village) Overall just great place.

Loved this pizza place. Fresh and delicious, and they made my mum's pastrami sandwich fresh, bread baked on site

Came back here 3 years later, and it is just as good if not better! I order two slices of pepperoni, and my mum and aunt asked what kind of calzones they have. The man behind the counter said "I can put whatever you want in it."
Two fresh made, hot from the oven calzones! And they made a whole fresh pepperoni pizza for me. Love this place!!

Hal has created an amazing pizza spot! We visited from California on a friends recommendation and were so delighted to have found this gem! We had a Margherita pizza and it was simply the best we've ever had!! Check this place out and enjoy the care that goes into every step!

Not exactly sure what I got but it was very tasty and favorable. It was a very pleasant surprise actually, I didn't know what to expect. Great selection of pizza, and price to food quality/quantity ratio is 8/10. Great for takeout.

Excellent pie.
Sauce was flavorful and the ricotta is perfect.
Dough was phenomenal and the boys behind the counter are quite nice.
Maybe 3 bucks is a bit much for one slice but I think it's worth it overall.
9/10 would eat again
