Honest Review
I loved our servers Albert and Julito- I give them 10 big stars!! The service was impeccable, warm, welcoming and made us feel like royalty.
The BEST part of our experience-
Julito and Albert the main dining room servers
Marvin Chavez- our room attendant for 9684
Loved the bed- extremely comfortable and I slept so well!!
Getting off the ship was easy and fast- THANK YOU!!!
Guest Services- very professional when I needed them (except did NOT come through with my distilled water which was requested multiple times)
Fernanda the reservationist and the lady we worked with to re-book (I don't know her name)
They were very informative and helpful
We loved the state room and Marvin did an exceptional job.
Loved the shower- water heat and pressure was great! The bathroom was stellar and a powerful toilet.
We loved our balcony too!
The best food was Bonvoyage night in main dining room. Specifically asparagus appetizer-Caesar salad- and braised lamb.
Loved eating breakfast and brunch in main dining room- elegant and great choices- also terrific - the best pasteries- to die for.
Cookies were freaking amazing and so was the chocolate pear tart.
High marks for the Greek food in the windjammer!!
Fresh fruit- STELLAR!!
AWESOME ENTERTAINMENT!! The effectors was my fave show- followed by the juggler-the tenors - showgirls and lastly "The Book"- (not my type of show- reminded me of a weird low budget cirque du soleil with an odd lone top hat character and a chick playing random violin- very puzzling weird story.
The negatives:
My husband ordered a crown Royal manhattan and was charged 29$ for ONE drink. That's rape. I get it that drinks are expensive but that's robbery. Had we known that- we never ever ever would have ordered that. We were charged a ridiculous upcharge of 11$ for crown Royal.
Entering the ship was chaotic as first time cruisers- that could use some improvement and organization.
Food quality most of the time missed the mark to me. Overall it was very bland and "Italian night" was terrible and was in no way Italian. I understand you have to cater to a wide variety of cultures but please get an Italian chef for Italian night. Italian is so easy to do well. The lasagna was dry and very bland- extra sauce made it a little better. I feel like the presentation was amazing but the taste did not match up to the presentation. The food overall to me was very bland.
The standard Lavazza coffee is awful- the coffee is also not served hot enough.
I called also to ask weeks before my cruise for distilled water- I did not get it. I went to guest services to get it- I did not get it- I finally asked Marvin and I got it.
Extremely disappointed at the soda package which I got a refund on. Many machines were broken and the machines are not easily accessible. I complained and was credited easily for the days I did not use the package- loco fresh soda machine was broken the entire trip- I was told there was a soda machine in seaplex- there was not. Of the two soda machines in the wind jammer one was broken.
The ice makers at cafe promenade were broken during our trip but repaired after maybe 1/2 a day.
Cafe 270- sandwiches not melted as they should be- it is too busy for one person. Cafe 270 my husband was served two sandwiches of fatty inedible meat.
The uppity Australian guy pretty much told us that the only way we could get on the northstar was to pay for it- this was absolutely a lie- I was able to get on for the free experience the following day.
Overall I felt like if staff didn't know the answer they made it up- I asked a lady how long t shirt day 7 sales would go on- she said til around 1pm or so- WRONG!!! It was going on all night. Like the uppity guy at the North Star- did not know what he was talking about and I felt like it was a shady way to try to generate a sale.
At the show- Show Girls at the 8pmshow on 11/23/24- people were watching the shows SITTING ON THE STAIRS. This is a MAJOR safety concern in the event of an emergency and there is no reason they should have been permitted to do that!!!Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - 6828091523Apr 22, 2024
First time cruiser here and I was excited and also nervous with being sea sick. I came prepared with meds, patches, anti vomiting wristbands. I guess it all worked because I didn't vomit and had an amazing time!
We traveled on Anthem of the Seas and leaving out in Bayonne, NJ. The cruise stops at Orlando, Florida, Nassau, Bahamas and private island - Perfect Day at Coco Cay. We stayed in a junior suite and it was perfect. The suite can sleep up to 5 people. There is a Pullman bunk, and the couch can be pulled out for two extra people, and there is a king sized bed with a lovely firm mattress. The balcony has two seats with leg rests and a coffee table. There's 1 full bathroom with tub and a half bathroom. Trust me, you need two toilets for family of four! Coffee maker, coffee/tea/creamer/milk/sugar is available and replenished for use and mini fridge comes in handy.
I love the junior suite you can also dine at the Coastal Kitchen for dinners but you have to make reservations. Food is generally delicious weather you eat at their windjammer breakfast, or have sorentos pizzas, or mini tuna sandwich and snacks at their cafe, or eat at main dining room! We love the variety of selections and cuisines.
Service is top notch especially at the main dining room. Shout out to our wait staff, Anthony and Nardito and our room attendant, Ari! They took care of us. Make sure to bring cash and give the extra tip.
Excursions and all special add ons purchase like drink package or internet - make sure to purchase it a week before you board the trip for lower price. After you board, you will pay full price with no discounts.
Overall, there's lots of activities to do everyday day and they are mostly free so just download the RC app and book all the shows you want to go. Have fun!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 8, 2023Updated review
I had the best time ever on this 7 cruise aboard Oasis of the Seas. The dinner service in the Main Dining room exceeded my expectations.
Royal Caribbean has a great staff, from the room staff, the bar staff , wait staff and every member of the Royal Caribbean family, these people work extremely hard to provide a memorable experience. I can't say enough and highly recommend this cruise.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Oct 21, 2018Previous reviewWow Wow & Wow again . What can I say about Royal Caribbean Cruise. I've cruised before, but never on Royal Caribbean. This was truly a Royal experience aboard Anthem of the Seas. This 3 year old cruise ship gave me the best vacation that I have ever had. This was not only a vacation but it was my 35th class reunion. Speaking for Arts High School Class of 83, a great time was had by all in attendance. We cruised from Bayonne, NJ to King Wharf in the Bermuda. The Balcony Cabin, although small was extremely clean, well maintained and meticulously decorated. The daily cleaning attendant (Lilly from Nicaragua ) was a gem, she was very personable and knew us by name, she made us feel welcomed & Royal Caribbean is lucky to have had her for 21 years. The food aboard this vessel was phenomenal, speaking of breakfast, lunch, dinner & that late night pizza & cookies. The parties in the various clubs was made me feel 21 again (but then again, I feel that way everyday anyway). We did bumper cars, Karaoke & many onboard activities. There was never a board moment. The only negative part about Anthem of the Sea is that once it's all over you have a hard time getting out of that vacation mode. I'm ready for my next cruise.

Took a cruise on Royal Caribbean recently and it was my first one in about 10 years. The nice thing about cruises is that the vacation is whatever you make it....plenty of choices for activities...and plenty of time to do nothing.
Our vacation was something in between; we managed to stay pretty busy without being over-scheduled. We had a grand suite so there was plenty of room to stretch out and relax in between adventures.
The suite lounge was a great perk and meals at coastal kitchen were fabulous. I wasn't a fan of the buffet but some of the others that we traveled with liked it.
All of the staff members across the ship were awesome. They work really hard and are away from home for very long stretches.
Might plan another RC cruises next year if I can find a good deal.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve R.Plainfield, NJ0360Oct 23, 2024
Hey guys, make sure you check your first invoice after you book because my friend in check it and she wound up instead of a interior balcony wound up with a interior when I went to get services they would not do a thing about it. They didn't even give her a credit for next cruise . these cruise companies are getting more than worse. Make sure you check everything including the flights. The food was OK was hard to get tickets. The ship was beautiful, but their customer service stinks with little satisfaction and little communication. And if you have an injury on the sea on the ship, don't expect too much service to help you.

I went on the Royal Caribbean International Brilliance of the Seas Powerball Cruise to Mexico with my cousin Kyndell. Along with all the other travelers, we had a fabulous time. The entertainment and food were great, and the service was impeccable.

I'm currently writing this review about 10 minutes after departing my five night cruise to Bermuda. If you're looking to book a cruise, I highly advise you to stay clear of Royal Caribbean.
I spent five nights on the Liberty of the Seas, and there was little to nothing good about this boat.
For starters, the food was hospital quality. The buffet, or as they call it, the "Wind Jammer", was some of the worst food I've had on a vacation in a long time. The eggs during breakfast time tasted like they were pre-bought from a Burger King and microwaved that morning. Yes, they were powdered eggs. The waffles and pancakes were also microwaved. Eggo, if I had to guess. Meanwhile, the lunch and dinner menu at this buffet wasn't much different. The burgers had absolutely no flavor, and mostly everything else seemed frozen at some point.
The restaurant was no different, either. While the service in the restaurant was excellent, especially from our waitress Irene, the food was extremely lackluster. The portions would come in child sizes, and the food in general just did not taste good. Also, if you order the New York Strip Steak at any point, order the next temperature up from your preference. For example, if you like your steak cooked at a medium rare, order a medium. I ordered my steak medium rare on night one, and I was left on the toilet for parts of five consecutive hours.
As for the wifi situation, if you're planning on going on this cruise without the wifi package and relying on the Royal Caribbean app to communicate with your family, I would cancel your trip immediately. The app never worked, none of my messages that I sent to any of my family members went through, and I didn't receive a single notification on my phone from the app when they messaged me. (Yes, my notifications are on in my settings).
Finally, the customer service was beyond horrible. If you're looking to see a staff full of a bunch of foreigners who look like they want to launch themselves off of the 12th deck, then the Liberty of the Seas is the boat for you. Over the five nights I was there I don't think I saw a single smile from any of the guest service desk workers.
On top of that, they can't even do their job correctly. My mother bought me and my siblings magnets to put on the outside of our door, as well as some for her and my dad's room down the hall. On the fifth night, we noticed those magnets (that my mother spent $30 on before we left the house on day one) were gone, possibly stolen. She went to the front desk to inquire about them, and Rafael told her there's nothing he can do since they're on the outside of your room. He then called the head of security, Marjan, and started laughing over the phone. So if you're a thief and would like to book a vacation, make sure you steal as many things as possible in the hallways, because they don't care.
After hearing that I went down with my mother to speak to the front desk people and I demanded to speak with the head of security. When speaking to Marjan, he didn't care. All he did was say that he'll look at the cameras and begin an investigation. My family and I then went to the last show of the cruise (off topic, but the shows were the only good part about this cruise. Jason Bishop and the comedian RJ were fantastic) and came back after to check up on the investigation, and Yegsha was absolutely nasty about it, saying it's under investigation and they'll get back to us. For those of you wondering, no, we did not get our magnets back. My mother wanted to make a scrap book of our trip and include those in it.
The only things that give this disgrace of a boat two stars are the shows, the activities, and the pools. As mentioned before, Jason Bishop and the comedian RJ (I forget his last name) were great. There's something for everyone in every show. There were plenty of fun games, scavenger hunts, and other activities, too. Finally, the pools were designed nicely, with a kid pool area, a main pool, and an adult section.
I'm not sure what the other Royal Caribbean cruises are like, but I highly recommend you stay away from the Liberty of the Seas. Save your money and try Carnival or Norwegian.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joel Z.Stamford, CT080Oct 18, 2024
I went to the casino gambled up to 300 a hand of blackjack lost over 4000 dollars and at the end of the cruise had 123 points. Met 6 people at dinner that gamble a 100 a day in roulette get free cruises free drinks at the casino and I get offered nothing. So I opened my mouth they sent me a cheap bottle of wine and gave me drinks for the last 10 hours. Maybe should have lost 1000 and not over the 4000 i did because they get offered free cruises
