Shopko

I feel like four stars is spot on for ShopKo. It was sort of the almost all purpose store before that was with everything became. This is a spot that we would go to buy school supplies, clothing, toys, maybe some furniture and then pick up non-refrigerated food on the way out. It remains a stable for the west side of Yakima in a great spot to stop in.

Over the years, we have probably purchased something from every different all purpose store genre. Shoes, check. Snacks, check. A piece of our bedroom set that we couldn't find anywhere else...Check! It's also a great place to go find very specific college clothing, like support the team from your state type clothing, as well as Seahawks gear. This is usually the place that we go if we are heading over to Seattle for a Huskies game and someone can't find their shirt.

I'm also routinely impressed by the stuff that is on clearance. Recently, there were beer making kits for $15, down from $80. Not something I was in need of, but I'm sure if the right person this is all too exciting! I've also found plenty of junk food on sale for the top of presents when we're going over to birthday parties. Nothing says happy birthday like some offbrand cheese chips!

All said and done, it's really nice to have one of these close by. It's nice to be able to go and grab office supplies as well as a swimsuit and have the people helping be perpetually friendly and nice to interact with. Keep up the good work ShopKo!

As seen, this location closed a few weeks ago. RIP ShopKo, 1962-2019. I was very glad to visit 8 days before they closed for good, and got $150 worth of items for less than $50. Christmas decorations, clothes, pants for mom, towel sets, washcloth sets and other miscellaneous items. Used to be a great place to get whatever you needed. There are plans to make this a strip mall soon.

It's like the Target here. The place is big and spacious. It has clothes, snacks, furniture, decorations, toys, and Payless shoes. Basically everything but groceries. Great place to get good quality products without the mess of Wal-Mart.

I feel bad for ShopKo because it used to be much more popular. Now that Walgreen's and Walmart have moved into town it has hurt the business of ShopKo. I wouldn't be surprised if the store closes in the next 3 years. I like shopping at ShopKo. Good customer service, friendly employees and good prices and variety. Check em out!

Similar to Target or Walmart with a slightly different selection. I found a great deal on a lamp and they have Jelly Belly dispensers so you can get a bag of your favorite flavor. All in all worth checking out when shopping for housewares or inexpensive clothes.

Doom and gloom for those who think Walgreens and Wal Mart are the saviors of savvy shoppers.

Shopko offers convenience and variety and excellent customer service Walgreens is a great little store but Walmart?? Please.

Watch out for postings done from competitors...just saw that on CNN Headline News a week ago.

I love this location as it is close and convenient. I love the constant sales and great prices. The staff however is not very helpful. If it is not their "section", they tell you just that. They do not page another member, instead they leave me searching the store myself. This has happen on several occasions.
