I really enjoy walking through the store. Only problem is, finding someone to answer a question is difficult. Or even finding someone to check out..... and then when they come, they aren't very friendly.

It's a job. Enjoy customer service or maybe get another job.

I like their inventory ( tho over priced because of lack of competition) but they need to retrain their staff.

I just bought my MOB dress for my daughter's October wedding. Channel (works in ladies evening wear) and Mariam (seamstress) were AMAZING. They were both so pleasant and helpful. Channel even selected the perfect shoes and jewelry. I usually don't shop Van Maur very often, but now I plan to. Wonderful shopping experience. Thank you.

Rude and unhelpful staff. They never have the correct sizes in stock and when you ask they look at you annoyed. Employees are on their phones or only talking to each other. Save your time and order online from Nordstrom.

I love Von Maur! My go-to shopping center. From clothing selections, decor, staff service, and overall quality, I'm always satisfied.

They carry a lot of clothing brands, from Free People to small chic brands. They cater to the whole family's needs, from baby clothes to juniors, and professional, and men's clothes. Von Maur also has family decor, makeup, and shoe sections. You can always find good deals at sales racks.

Also, their staff is very friendly and helpful. I've always enjoyed my visits there. I hope they can carry a loyalty program!

Looking for something special or just want deal on next piece to add to your closet.. I would visit this gem in the middle of Bloomington, IL. The customer service is very warm and welcoming with helpful hand for anything your looking for throughout the store. I always visit the "shoe closet." What is the shoe closet you ask? It's where mark downs happen on all the shoes that were once on the sales floor, as I understand Von Maur buys items in bulk. The regular price shoe stays on sales floor for limited time then goes to shoe closet. Von Maur prides themselves on having the "newest" items and does not leave things in sales floor long. I always always hit the shoe closet for great deal. I have found deals on best brands at crazy low prices.

Tip! Wait for 2 or 3rd mark down for best price.

I was in a need for a dress and the associate in dress department named Suzana at Orland Park store was really helpful. She helped me choose a couple different dresses and helped me carry them in the fitting room. Definitely my favorite store too shop.

This is the best higher-end shopping experience in town. No-interest charge card, free gift wrapping, free gift shipping, & free shipment to my home. Friendly staff, pianist, designer items, great shoe selection & fantastic sales! Makes living here (almost) worth it!

This is a top notch department store! I left my shoes at home while in town to attend a wedding and walked in not knowing what to expect. A shoe department full of many many wonderful choices! I had to hold myself back, knowing my suitcase space was limited. Ended up with a perfect pair for me and a fabulous new pair for my daughter. I never buy my kids shoes on a whim, esp not $50 shoes but really I just couldn't resist.

Really nice salespeople too.

Take heed of the other negative reviews as Von Maur is simply not the store I once knew. I started shopping at Von Maur in the late '80s. Over the years I have probably spent tens of thousands of dollars in the store. I'm a middle aged college professor so I need a nice wardrobe. I've now had 3 extremely bad experiences. In fact, I foresee someone eventually bringing legal action against the store for some of their clerk's behavior towards customers. They openly discriminate against certain demographics. This past week I needed makeup for a job interview. I'm guessing my short hair was just too much for the cosmetic clerk because she wrinkled up her nose at me, walked away, and started chit chatting with another customer who obviously had no intention of making a purchase. I hung around for about 10 minutes until it became embarrassingly and painfully obvious there was no way anyone was going to sell me anything. I'm a pretty 'chill' lady but I thought to myself: I'm a cis-gendered, heterosexual, white female who happens to like pixie-styled hair. If I get treated in such a shameful way imagine how customers who don't fit the stereotype of their specific demographic get treated? Imagine how black and/or brown people get treated? In today's day and age of online shopping there are far too many options to do business with a bigoted company. Unfortunately, their midwestern values are trapped in the 1940s... or missing altogether.
