I’m Zane (Zhengyang Hou), a 23-year-old founder. But more than a founder, I prefer to think of myself as a builder.
I love to keep building. To me, it is the most natural and fitting way to create.
During university, I found my way into the world of machine learning almost as if it were meant to happen. I enjoyed training neural networks and spent part of my undergraduate years working on time-series forecasting research.
Then, I was fortunate enough to witness the rise of large language models, led by ChatGPT. Near the end of university, I read Bill Gates’ article, AI is about to completely change how you use computers. It made me believe that agents would be the future of large language models. From there, I began collecting, studying, and learning from some of the best open-source agent projects.
When I graduated, influenced by Naval and Y Combinator, I did not seriously pursue a conventional job. Instead, I started my own journey of building.
I am always fascinated by small but real needs. Whenever I discover that other people share the same problem, it feels like finding treasure, and I cannot help but start building something for it.
I am also the Founder of Kareverie. Kareverie carries a long-term aspiration of mine: to build a truly AI-native company and use it as an experimental ground to explore, at the organizational level, how humans and AI will work and create together, and how the companies of the future will be reorganized.
At the same time, I am also the Co-Founder of Sayge. We are working on something we find genuinely sexy: rethinking human data sovereignty in the age of AI and exploring the frontier of human behavior simulation.
I am also learning, and gradually beginning to enjoy, sharing on the internet. I build and learn in public on X and Xiaohongshu, casually document thoughts and emotions from my entrepreneurial journey on Jike, and am currently creating a newsletter for longer-form thinking.
