Nazaré, Portugal. The town consists of three sections: Praia (along the beach), Sítio (an old village, on top of a cliff) and Pederneira (another old village, on a hilltop). The Praia and the Sítio areas are linked by the Nazaré Funicular, a funicular railway.
Obidos, Portugal
Obidos. This castle is located in the town of the same name and becomes a prominent medieval fortress! #Portugal

Obidos, Portugal was originally a wedding gift of the Portuguese King Dinis to his bride in 1282. For the next 600 years every Portuguese monarch did the same, offering this lovely village as dowry to the queen. So it is called, Casa das Rainhas, the House of Queens.
