The only difference is that my clean up paper already has some layers of paint and and inks on it. The paper does not absorb the ink from the open areas and picks up only a certain amount. So in stead of getting a clean white tag with colorful leaves, the in between areas are also colored. This gives the effect of a pile of frosty leaves and I LOVE it! Isn’t it

Gel Printing With Die-cutting Leftovers
Take a second look at the leftovers after die-cutting. Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen doesn’t throw them out because they make awesome masks/stencils for gel printing! It’s important to use a thin layer of paint to allow the die-cut paper to lift up all of the paint from the plate. Use an acrylic block to gently press down the paper without touching the paint in the open areas. A large brayer or lino roller makes it very easy to blend the colors.
