The STOCK Squaral Cat Staircase ($500), like our stock Cat Pole, fits ceiling heights up to 98-3/4". It can be made shorter to accommodate any height. (TO ORDER: SEND US THE MEASUREMENT OF THE EXACT HEIGHT OF YOUR CEILING and we will make the pole specifically to fit your space, with 5-1/2" of adjustment as measurement tolerance and also to allow the Staircase to be moved to other spaces). The stock Squaral has 10 steps that each rise 7-1/4" (to about 72-1/2" from the floor to the top of the top step). EXTENSIONS can be made to fit any size room. For instance, a 106" high ceiling would require a stock Squaral and a 10" extension. The total cost would be $525. (If you'd like kitty to climb higher on an extension, extra steps are an available). EXTRA STEPS ($40 each) can be added to go higher. (Contact us for a custom order involving extra steps). INSTALLATION requires only a small hole in the ceiling and tightening the threaded rod with the included 7/16" wrench. Instructions and hardware are included. A rubberized base is available in our listings for installation on CARPET. We have a new installation option that requires no drilling. It involves a 1/4" plywood plate affixed to the alignment block that has double-sided tape for adhesion to the ceiling. A separate listing in our items will be created with more info. The Squaral Cat Staircase originated as a custom order for an elderly cat. It allows cats who can no longer leap to get up high, for security or pleasure. Each step is 9-5/8" long by 7-1/4" wide, and is covered in sisal rug for safe footing. (We use sisal rugs that are 100% woven sisal and backed with natural latex rubber, made by sisalrugs.com). Many cats will scratch and chew at the rug fibers and the rug may take on a distressed look. The Squaral requires about 15-30 minutes of ASSEMBLY. The pole will be shipped separately from the steps, which will be shipped stacked as pairs of steps. Two packages in all will be shipped UPS Ground. Both will be packed in two walls of corrugated cardboard. Installation and hand delivery in New York City is available. Also custom paint is an option.
