Baroness Elsa von Freytag- Loringhoven was a Dada artist/poet, collaborator in New York with Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray before 1925. She painted, created assemblage art and, above all probably invented Performance Art. She was "the only one who lives Dada, loves Dada" according to her friend, Margaret Anderson, who published her poems in the Little Review. She is larely forgotten, along with most other Dada women.
