Britt Bengoechea on Instagram: "SAVE THIS for your spring planting inspo 🌿🌷⛲️👩🏼🌾🌱🍂🌅 A question we get all the time: What type of trees are those?! Swedish Columnar Aspens. They are the ideal tree for anyone looking to increase the privacy of their home, as they work perfectly for screening. They are also fast-growing and reach considerable heights (40+ ft) in a narrow fashion, meaning the trunks and roots aren’t too invasive or hard to handle. It is a gorgeous species with light-coloured bark and some of the nicest autumn colours, with yellow being the most common but also ranging through oranges and scarlet. #springplanting #privacytrees #gardeninspo #moderncottagegarden #yarddesign #lowmaintenancelandscaping #europeaninspiredgarden #backyardinspo #cozyoutdoors #outdoorliv
Anya Lautenbach on Instagram: "In this video I would like to show you how to easily support plants sustainably and cost effective. All I used are 6 sticks and a little bit of twine. I create a bit like a spider web for the branches to grow through it. My plant will grow through the support, covering it completely. In the middle of summer I want see any of the support and my plants will be in perfect shape for months. Plant support is very important because there will be one windy day in the middle of summer and your plants can get damaged. It’s important to me to buy as little plastic as possible and using what is available instead of buying more. More great tips and how to create a garden of your dreams for less is in my book. #gardeningforbeginners #dahliasofinstagram #diy #garden
Cyrus Sutton on Instagram: "Glyphosate containing Round Up is the most commonly used pesticide on Earth. It’s been detected in 93% of urine samples in a U.S. CDC study (2022). Despite ludacris amounts of money to coerse scientists and academics to purport its supposed safety, RoundUp has been featured in the countless lawsuits to the extent that it was finally classified as “probably carcinogenic to humans” by the WHO’s IARC. Here’s what we know now. Linked to non-Hodgkin lymphoma in multiple large-scale studies. Disrupts gut microbiota, hormone systems, and embryonic development in lab studies. Persists in soil and water, harming earthworms, amphibians, and aquatic ecosystems. Residential use is a major source of runoff into waterways."
Amy Powers on Instagram: "Sawflies lay their eggs on the leaves of roses and when the eggs hatch the little green larva start eating the leaves. It’s a good idea to start inspecting once the leaves emerge for white window pane damage or holes in your leaves. Flip those leaves over and squish the larva to kill them. if you have a major problem that you haven’t been on top of this year, you have a few low toxic organic controls, you can spray on the underside of your roses weekly. PLEASE DO NOT USE SYSTEMIC INSECTICIDES. These kill bees! PLEASE DO NOT USE DUST PRODUCTS OR DIATOMACEOUS EARTH ON ANY BLOOMING PLANT. These fine particles get attached to pollinators and they bring them back to their nest and it kills them. Low toxic, organic controls: - Neem Oil - Pyrethrin Organic Sprays (

We are approaching that time of the year where it is getting hotter and your plants need more and more water. It also coincides with the time of the year we often go away for small breaks too. With this quick JoesGarden tip you can water your plants, without even being there.Drip irrigation is fantastic and used by nearly all commercial growers as it gets the water to the roots, in a controlled way all day long.
