bought this game 13 days ago n my tear ducts haven't known peace since

Thank you Angela. I love this game. Made me cry a few times. Reminds me so much of myself and my girlfriend. I'd love to know if officially either/both of the characters are transgender. I'm curious as they have the trans flag on their bedroom wall and in my own head-canon they're both trans (but that's because in my own relationship we both are). We even have a cat!

SUCH A GORGEOUS GAME . as another comment mentioned, every scene replay plays a bit differently from the last, since your character is aware it is a replay. no two replays seem to be the same. I love the little details. wonderful writing and an incredible concept. PLEASE get this game, I promise you'll enjoy it.

Absolutely meets the expectations set by every other Angela He game. Every single one of these games has hit me right in the gay and it hurts every time. This one isn't what I expected based on the description, and I don't think I was emotionally prepared for what followed, but it's kind of in line with most of Angela's other games, with themes of death and loss and unending love. A little suspension of disbelief is needed, but only on the fact that they stayed in the same house their entire lives without changing the furniture, and the topical nature of including the virus/quarantine was a little jarring and I'm not usually a fan of games that are doing that in this way (it's just a little too current to be using as plot drama, I think, especially with no form of content warning for its inclusion while people are actively facing that loss and fear right now), but neither in any way decreases or negates the quality of the game. Music is beautiful, art is beautiful, story is gut-wrenching. Would recommend.

Also just a specific compliment: The menu screen being a part of the actual game is really amazing, the note that is added to the book after completing the story in full made my heart ache.

the only reason for me to get a job

Once I get some money I'm gonna come back and buy this <3 bookmarking !

made me cry. So good art and sound. Playing through the same section multiple times doesnt make it any less meaningfull, and there is more to rewinding than just replaying the same section. builds so much attatchment to the characters in such a short span of time

Hey i played this game for my channel, honestly its so sad

part 1 -

part 2 -

(+10)

I'm so glad I picked this out of the Racial Justice and Equality bundle, this was really my first visual novel, and it was a great, straightforward story. Also Mao is adorable :D

(+2)(-2)

urgh, can't buy, on chromebook, looks good, so sad

(+1)(-2)

Amazing experience. The love story is told beautifully, and the art is just lovely. I played it a couple of times just to see all of the endings, but here's the first gameplay, if you're not afraid of spoilers :

(+2)

This is the most beautiful story I have had the pleasure to experience. Thank you! The music, the art, the story, its all amazing. I cried my eyes out.

(+8)

Holy shit dude. You made me cry my eyes out so bad. Thank you but screw you at the same time

(+1)

One thing that bothers me way more than it should: scrollin in the about section with the mousewheel is painfully slow.

(+12)

I picked this game out because I thought it'd be a nice lesbian vn that would have light angst but eventually come back to a happy ending. I was wrong. I was so wrong. The art and music is so nice, and the dialogue made me relate myself and my partner to the characters even after a few minutes of playing. Unfortunately.

I wish there was a trigger warning for the covid-esque virus that kills her the first time. I was honestly unprepared for it when it happened, which was my fault in a way since there were hints of it before. That whole section is just a heavy part to get through, one that ended with me frustratingly screaming and also way more anxious than before. Which may or may not have been the intentions, but I just wished the warning was there.

By the end of the game I was crying, like actually crying, which is something I can't say I've done recently over a game. I mean, it hurt. All those times of losing her piled up and it felt so bad. Which is to say besides the lack of a warning, this is a pretty good game. I can't say I've enjoyed it completely (the first part really hits too close to reality w/o a warning for me to  be enjoying that section) but I will say watching the characters grow closer and stuff...it was nice.

oof

(+9)

it looks amazing and all, but death, cancer, and the virus are triggering topics...could you please tag such things"

hit too close to home with covid, beautiful art

(+4)

Wow, amazing art and music. Love it. :)

(+3)

Loved this game, the story and the music is beautiful too <3

(+5)

Beautiful story. Especially relevant with the COVID situation going on right now...

(+5)

Tears. So many tears. Hits especially hard for me because I'm constantly worried about my girlfriend. Good job as usual, I absolutely adore your work.

(+3)

This was a beautiful story and an incredibly well-made game. I cried more than once. Thank you so much for telling this story and letting us experience this beautiful love story.

This was a beautiful love story <3 I definitely kinda cried....

(+1)

Beautiful on every level. I'm not crying, you're crying.

Your wife dies for emotion points. Doesn't matter of what, or what you do.

Ask her to get snacks rather than come straight home from the grocery? She fucking dies of covid, despite being young and explicitly having no other health problems.

Fail to get her vitamins, masks, an extended prescription, wipes, and five other things? Suggest them in the wrong order so that she cuts you off before you get to everything? Whoops, she dies of covid again.

Get past that? Miss a doctor's appointment and she dies of a fucking brain tumor.

Get past that? Apparently Light Yagami has her number, because at the end she dies of heart failure no matter what you do. No way to prevent it. This is the best ending you can get.

There are five endings: in three of them your wife dies as described above. In the other two you reject her and she can be safely presumed to die without you knowing, because she's as sickly as a Victorian maiden.

It's not sad, it's just silly. It lessens the emotional impact, enough so that I don't even remember the characters' names at this point.

You can make choices as a player, yes! But you have no real agency to carve out your fate. Despite the art and dialogue being of excellent quality, that makes the whole game sour.

This review isn't kind, so I'm sorry. I liked Angela's other stuff. I love most lesbian VNs, and it's plain to see the amount of effort put into it. But I still really don't like this one, because you weren't able to do anything. Links are to TVTropes, beware.

I don't think you're giving the creator enough credit. This game isn't about "winning," it's about dealing with loss and how loss can affect a person in different situations. Everyone dies, but when you have more time with them, it is easier to get closure. I think this game is a beautiful metaphor for COVID, because a lot of people's futures are being but short, either because of death or because the world has changed so dramatically. When August's future with May that she had planned is taken away, it was much harder for her to move on.

I also felt a bit cheated that May died from a brain tumor simply because I didn't want to take a doctor's appointment away from someone else who needs it, but I had to realize that this is a reality: sometimes in life, you try to make all the right decisions, and bad stuff still happens. You can wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and plan for every eventuality and still get COVID. This is my interpretation of the game, anyway.

Thank you for making this game. It really hit for me and I completely adored the story and the characters and the way everything came together, both in parts and in the end. Thank you!

Beautiful game. I first discovered the game on Youtube and it instantly hit me in the heart. Then I bought the game because I really wanted to experience it by myself, see all the possibilities and endings, and enjoy the story that is incredibly cute, warm but also heartbreaking at se same time. I've already played visual novels before but this one is very special. The interface is soft and clean, what makes the game even more pleasant to play. Also the drawings and the art style are gorgeous, and the musics are peaceful and beautiful too, and made the game even more moving. Even if it makes me sad, I can't help but think about it again and again. Deep in my heart I wish this story could end in another way, but the game is beautiful this way and I don't regret having played it at all. I'm a pretty emotional person but It's been a long time since I've been so moved. Gg for making such a beautiful game ;)

Nice game Angela. Glad to see you are exporting to multiple platforms now.

You should make a Discord server ;) And put a few trusted mods there. But maybe it's not your thing to make a Discord server, and you could delete it later if you find that you don't like having a Discord server. It's a great way to get instant feedback for your games and hold polls.

It won't be Angela's Discord server. It will be OUR Discord server.

(1 edit)

Omg thank you FizzyTea. I would but my life is so disorganized I would be a horrible mod/discord leader T_T Idk but if anyone wants to make a discord without me feel free!

Makes sense to  not have a Discord in some cases, as owning/maintaining too many things can be quite overwhelming/burnout.

This was like nothing I was expecting, beautifully illustrated, perhaps far too timely and utterly broke me. It existentially weighs on me the power of relationships alongside the power of their loss. I think I'm glad I experienced it, not all media is easy.

(+1)

I guess this tin man did have a heart... :'{)

(+2)

hey, wanna see how hard I can cry TToTT

This game's art is STUNNING. The pacing was amazing, and the story nuances felt very real to me, I loved all the little touches in the background, and think this was a fantastic visual novel.

A lot of games I've gotten have had that same problem, but I just click the more info button which then prompts a run anyways button to show up. Hope that helps you!

you shouldnt get this problem if you use the itch downloader app

Beautiful visual novel about a lesbian married couple that legit made me tear up a little. I guess what makes it hit harder than many of the other ones I played so far is how topical it is to our current live and how charming and believable the characters are presented. Also helps that the game allows you to quickly jump to a chapter where you left off, so you are very easily able to digest the whole story of your path instead of needing to replay the whole thing. Small, but precious and beautiful thing. If you wondered if you should check out a VN of the bundle, this is a great start. 4,5/5

i just finished 4 different endings and dont know the last time i cried this hard. The art and story are beautiful <3

wow. this game is so beautiful! I haven't ugly cried like that in a MINUTE.

precious little story about love and loss.

I saw 2 endings, both brought me to a lot of tears. It's a VERY beautiful game but I don't feel like crying two or three more times in the hope of seeing some happiness that might not exist. I managed to get them to old age though so, you know.
