the shadows whisper...
The Night Abridged

This story is not one, where at the end, you find yourself surrounded by your loved ones. No, this is a one of how you die.

Ever since the death of your parents by those who’d been sworn to protect you, there has been something inexplicably wrong with you.

At first, they were just headaches—small manageable aches, even at their worst. But then came the voice. A voice that wasn’t yours, whispering things you couldn’t possibly know, helping you do things no one should be able to do.

Everything about you was just…wrong.

But then you were saved, taken in by people who gave you shelter and taught you control. And over time, that voice became nothing more than a whisper, offering you insights when you least expect it.

You became a scalpel in their organization, an invaluable asset who cut away whatever rot they pointed you to, and you did so without question.

That is, until one day a job lands you in hot water and the next thing you know, you’re told to cut the rot that lies a little too close to the heart. Suddenly, the truth becomes lies, friends turn to foes, and the fine line between loyalty and betrayal begins to blur.

That begs the question: just how far are you willing to go to cut out that rot before it spreads?

  • Become a vessel for an Eldritch that grants you abilities like no other, yet endure the consequences that follows it.
  • Customise your vessel, including their pronouns, identity and physical appearance.
  • Romance 1 of 4 options: the rot, the grace, the protector or the stranger.
  • Confront old friends, create new foes, run some errands and try not to die while doing any of it.
  • Pluck at the fraying strands of your mind. Teeter to the edge of Insanity.
  • Trust that no one is who they say they are.
  • And most importantly: Abandon All Hope.

The Rot: Ilya Roson [m/f/nb] - romanceable by all MCs.

A person who you’ve long since thought was gone. They’ve betrayed you once and they’ve come to do it again. Then again, betrayal requires trust in the first place and you’ve since learned your lesson from the first time.

The Grace: Vira Duval [f] - romanceable by nb!MCs and f!MCs only.

She is beauty, she is grace, yet monstrous all the same. There is something about her that strikes you: the scars that creep from beneath her neck line, the cold calculation in her eyes. She is more than the Blueblood you think she is.

The Protector: Aurius Duval [m] - romanceable by all MCs.

A scion of everything you’ve come to hate, he dares to call himself a protector—a shield to the people above all else. While he is kind and polite, you can’t help but see the blood that he carries on his hands…even though you carry more on yours.

The Stranger: Rhian Scott [m/f/nb] - romanceable by all MCs.

They are the trouble that follows you, the herald of misfortune. Why is it that every time they’re near, something always goes wrong? Is it the charm, leeching all the luck you have to fuel it? Or is it maybe that they are just not the friend they claim to be?

Hello, my lovelies. Here is a new intro post for the remake of The Night Abridged, reblogs are much appreciated :)

HEY important, but there's a site called Citron Games which have been taking games off itch.io and uploading it to their site and claiming they're the publisher/copyright holder of them!

I've seen a lot of vns on there from devs I know/follow, but I've also seen some IFs on there as well.

I'd recommend checking the site to make sure your game isn't on there and if it is, issuing a DMCA takedown!

There’s a blog dedicated to hating IF blogs??? wtf

Anonymous asked:

Yes, I was very shocked to find that out too and it’s very unfortunate that someone would dedicate an entire blog to hating IF blogs and their writers.

is it okay if i ask which author deleted their blog? no biggie if you don’t want to share!

Anonymous asked:

If you’d like, you can DM me and I can share the name of the blog with you. I’m not sure if the author would be alright with me sharing their blog after everything that has happened, but I’m sure many of you know it already.

Hello, haven't been here for awhile but, there are really people who are sending hate asks? Like they really have the time to do that? Cause if yes then they really have to touch grass and additional sky so that the god of rationality can bless them

Anonymous asked:

Holaaaaa!

Yeah, they do :( There’s a blog dedicated to hating IF blogs too, which I personally believe is insane 😮‍💨 Why can’t we all just get along. Is that too much to ask for? 😮‍💨 don’t think the gods of rationality can even touch those people man. Their negative aura just repels them away, unfortunately

Y'all. Get a grip. Touch some grass. The sun will do you good, trust.

Unfortunately the IF community(in particular the readers) has a lot of issues with entitlement. Of course, not all readers are feeling entitled about the projects, the work, that they are reading and engaging with, but the ones that do are often vocal about it. They don’t realize that it is not their right to treat others the way they please, whether it’s about a storyline they want, a character they don’t like, or how they engage with a writer.

Ive seen a lot of the community speak up about it, but it hasn’t stopped or lessened, it looks like it just keeps getting worse.

Anonymous asked:

Yes, I’ve also unfortunately seen this kind of entitlement show up all too often across many IF blogs. It’s another annoying part of the IF community. Interacting with audiences becomes incredibly draining when people continue to speak to authors with such disregard and entitlement.

If they don’t like how a story is written or its characters, then they can fuck right off and write their own story that suits their own preferences, NOT take it out on the author through harassment.

Or just don’t read the story if it’s not to your taste. There’s nothing wrong in not reading something if you don’t like it.

I’m truly disappointed by the way some audiences are treating IF authors. It’s disheartening to see someone pour passion into a project and bravely share it with the public, only to be met with harassment—even when it’s disguised as “playful flirting”.

What’s especially disturbing is how often people blatantly ignore an author’s clearly stated boundaries. When someone repeatedly says that certain messages make them uncomfortable, continuing to send them isn’t just inconsiderate, it’s harmful, disrespectful and frankly, disgusting.

The fact that the harassment escalated to the point where an author felt compelled to delete their blog is incredibly upsetting.

I had hoped that people would have basic decency to show respect, but clearly, that was wishful thinking. It might seem like fun and games to be sending such messages, but I assure you, it is not. Especially when someone had already stated what they were comfortable with and what they weren’t.

I truly hope that in the future, people learn to respect boundaries and not blatantly ignore them. Thank you very much.

Progress Update

Hello y'all. I ain’t dead ;)

I know you’ve been wondering where I have been and the truth is that I’ve fr been really busy with life. (Getting hit from all sides with projects, assignments and to add a cherry on top: physical and labourous work because we live in a capitalist world). So I think you can already guess that progress has been very slow.

I’m still outlining the new chapters and I’ve taking note of all the new little ideas I think would be very neat! The outlines for the first few chapters have come along very nicely and I’m actually quite happy with them so I’m very excited to start writing it. However, I have vowed that I wouldn’t start writing until I’ve at least outlined a good chunk of the story.

Tldr: slow progress due to real life obstacles, but we’re getting there. Outlines for the first few chapters have been complete and we’re still going.
