The FPTM is a tool developed at NIST and is used to perform passive or active testing and analysis of HVAC systems by interacting in realtime with BACnet systems. The FPTM uses a series of commands to drive the mechanical systems into its various normal modes of operation. Rules may be used to determine whether the system response was appropriate.
Listens for BACnet messages (write-property) addressed to host machine as router. When one is received the packet is examined for destination device. If found in the mapping data, the BACnet message write-property value is converted to a voltage/value to be sent to the DAQ output channel mapped to the channel the original message was intended for.
