about
Afriquoi are super proud to present this remix from long-time friend and supporter Cervo. Co-founder of Manchester-based club night & label Banana Hill, as a producer he has featured on labels such as Black Acre, Heavenly Sweetness and Lumberjacks in Hell as well as self-releasing on Banana Hill, including Majid Bekkas remixes and the collaborative Kawuku Sound project with Contours and Ugandan percussion troupe Fonkodelis Arkestra.
Flipping the tune from the original ⅝ groove, Cervo manages to create a deep, warm melancholy but decidedly danceable afro house classic.
Cervo says:
"I have been a long-time fan of Afriquoi - from booking them to play in a warehouse in Sheffield almost a decade ago to playing on loads of the same lineups over the years - so I was super happy to have a go at remixing some of their new music. 'Trust Me' has such a great energy and at the same time melancholy, so I tried to capture that in my reworking of the track. Hope you dig it!"
