Two stage vehicle that ditches the battery used for takeoff and climb in the form of a smaller, autonomous aircraft. Results in a range gain of 80% and energy cost reduction by 40% compared to a standard passenger hybrid-electric aircraft. Deck.Technically feasible but operationally complex.
