Dive down in the green And come back high Snow playing in the beam We come back cold In the squall, critical The flight, the flame, the wave In light, symmetry The beat, the fray, the weight From the sound in between I come back right Same shapes on the screen But you’ll be fine In the squall, critical The flight, the flame, the wave In light, symmetry The beat, the fray, the weight

Sight, sound On the edge of loud Rule one Do you remember now? Do you recall it? Like a bird, I was Not afraid, I was Just a page to cross Move over now On the wave, I was Move over now On the wave, I was White sand As the day breaks out Rule two The way I found To get around it Like a bird, I was Not afraid, I was Just a page to cross Move over now On the wave, I was Move over now One the wave, I was

f I’d known more If I’d read more The key, the knife Bricks on sand The kick, the breath The first to try Out on the road Time don’t mean anything Neon ride - go the distance Isn’t quite what it seems Like a shadow on the pavement Just a whisper in the darkness Well that was easy If I’d been there If I’d seen more The fist, the light Bricks on sand The kick the breath The first to try Out on the road Time don’t mean anything Neon ride - go the distance Isn’t quite what it seems Like a shadow on the pavement Just a whisper in the darkness Well that was easy

How to Live 04:46
How to live? And who to see? I’m standing at the station Thinking about the future And I know I’ve been uncertain And I could’ve been much clearer But on the road I walk on There’s a fire beyond There’s a key beneath the dormant And a light - leave it on In my mind I’m certain of just one thing I’ll do Do you see the potential? Do you mean it too? How to breathe? And how to believe? I’m standing at the station Thinking about the future And I know I’ve been uncertain And I could’ve been much clearer But on the road I walk on There’s a fire beyond There’s a key beneath the dormant And a light - leave it on In my mind I’m certain of just one thing I’ll do Do you see the potential? Do you mean it too?

Stripped down white Wondering where you’re gonna go now Head held high Wondering where you’re gonna go now You heard calls from above Singing how long's to come? How long? Stripped down white Wondering where you’re gonna go now Well it came to be long ago A flicker through the trees A signal of belief It ain’t that hard to find It’s just the sigh, the ebb, and the flow That’s right I’ve got vision I’ve got time to come How long can I run? Well I’m jumping in By the reeds By the rocks - where the wall once was And the red of the dust - meets the green - meets trust And I’m falling in Down beneath The kelp and the reef pull up shallow And there’s this calm inside Where hope resides Well it came to be long ago A flicker through the trees A signal of belief It ain’t that hard to find It’s just the sigh, the ebb, and the flow That’s right I’ve got vision I’ve got time to come How long can I run? The sigh, the ebb, and the flow That’s right

For what I feel For what I know For every drop of rain That landed on my nose For every scratch For every graze For every smoke For every beer For every dream For every fear That’s what I see That’s what I know That’s what I feel Kicking leaves And laying low Jumping in Don’t feel the cold Making plans And letting go That’s what I see That’s what I know That’s what I feel For every drop of rain That landed on my nose

Someone 02:44
Someone comes looking Someone stands tall Someone is working At the end of it all Some days bring the happiness Some days it don’t show up at all Some days the cold bites hard But you don’t feel it all This morning when I made breakfast I was afraid I would die Have you ever head anything so reckless? But we’ve all been afraid sometimes Someone comes looking Someone stands tall Someone is working At the end of it all

about

I made my eighth album (Henry Found the Time) over an 18 month period and it was released in September 2024. Shortly after, as the house lay upturned (old cottages by the sea need looking after) and empty (everyone was away) I binned the house maintenance and sat at the kitchen table with my guitar, violin and laptop and wrote and recorded Squall Critical in a week. You see, I have had some heart issues. And so, as I was writing I felt in a very strong creative flow and I thought that I was definitely about to die and it was for this reason that the songs were coming so fast and with such honesty. I worked frantically to finish it before the end came. The last track I completed was the instrumental - 'Get Your Head Down' - I just picked up my violin and made him cry. I guess the lyrics to 'Someone' sum it up:

This morning when I made breakfast
I was afraid that I would die
Have you ever heard anything so reckless?
We’ve all been afraid sometimes

I'll be on tour in 2025 bringing these tunes to life.
