Nightscout is an Open Source web-based CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) that allows multiple caregivers to remotely view a patient’s glucose data in real time.

It is often deployed by non-technical people for their own use. The traditional method used a MongoDB Addon on Heroku that is now deprecated. I have sent patches to adapt the documentation on the relevant projects:

LoopDocs: https://github.com/LoopKit/loopdocs/pull/191

Nightscout: https://github.com/nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor/pull/5893

This app is life-changing. Some Nigthscout users may be impatient, so I am writing this blog post to guide them in the meantime.

Introducing Autodeb

Autodeb is a new service that will attempt to automatically update Debian packages to newer upstream versions or to backport them. Resulting packages will be distributed in apt repositories.

I am happy to annnounce that I will be developing this new service as part of Google Summer of Code 2018 with Lucas Nussbaum as a mentor.

The program is currently nearing the end of the “Community Bonding” period, where mentors and their mentees discuss on the details of the projects and try to set objectives.

I have been waiting for the right opportunity to participate to GSOC for a while.
I have worked on a project idea that is just right for my skill set, it would be a great learning opportunity for me and I hope that it can useful to the wider Debian community.

Please take a look at the project description and let me know if you would be interested in mentoring me over the summer.
