Wordless Wednesday. - Stockholm.

Our approach to Stockholm took us through the archipelago which consists of 30,000 islands, not all inhabited.

There are so many marinas that it seems that everyone in the Scandinavian countries must own a boat!

Sorry about the quality of these two photos. I was using my phone on maximum zoom and they didn't come out very clear.

I don't know what this place is, but I assume it is a mill of some sort. It looks like it has small blades, but not the sails you usually associate with windmills.

Wordless Wednesday, Baltics Cruise 2023.

Visby on the island of Gotland, Sweden.

Flowers everywhere, no graffiti and everything kept spotlessly clean. A pleasure to be there.

Park with the remains of the old town wall in the background.

The entrance to the old town

A very popular sea food restaurant.

Wordless Wednesday - Stockholm Archipelago.

These were taken between 5.00 and 5.30am. The sun rises so early that you get up much earlier. The further north we went it didn't set at all.

Sunrise over the Stockholm Archipelago which consists of over 30,000 islands and rock outcrops. Even some of the tiniest islands have a house on them!

Cormorants.

Cormorant nests.

An early morning car and foot ferry.

Arrival in Copenhagen harbour.

Baltics Cruise July/ August 2014 - Stockholm Archipelago.

After leaving Finland we headed for Stockholm. The Captain had told us that passing through the Stockholm Archipelago shouldn't be missed as it is so beautiful. The sun barely sets at this time of year so I made sure I was up ready to see it.
No words just photos, the scenery describes itself.
