lyrics
I see what is in your heart
No beast you worship
Frailty leaks from you
Cold and naked, you are here
Chin up, soldier,
Men don’t cry
On soft ground your shoulders lie
I pray for Your refuge, Lord,
For there’s not just one of him
There’s an army
The trumpet summons all before Your throne
Chin up, soldier,
Men don’t cry
On soft ground your shoulders lie
Face me with
Your head unbowed
Kneel before my open mouth
Palms flat and wide
I bruise roses
Holding Your thorns
Crushed velvet in Your arms
Chin up, soldier,
Men don’t cry

Wow, this album just won't stop! It might well be my favorite "black metal" (but this is so genre defying that I hate to really put a genre label on it) album of the past decade. The music is incredible, the jazziness and the tension, the performances are virtuosic, the production is stellar, and the vocals are indescribable, like a cross between an impassioned soap-box preacher, and the voice in my own head telling me to fight the injustices of a cruel system. Industrial textures and vocals with a hint of gothic melodrama come together on tAngerinecAt''s latest trip to the dark side. Bandcamp New & Notable May 3, 2022
I love the heavy religious inspiration behind this album. The raw vocals kinda cling to your mind in a way its kinda stuck there and the song will just stay in your mind permenantly. macbxth_mp3
