"This is our rallying cry to unite the Outcasts, Misfits, Freaks and Rebels"
With it’s super energised hook -it is the perfect song to experience live.
lyrics
Peeping through your walls. Creep
I can be your friend through the beat
Bodies hanging low out my Jeep
If you wanna feel alive, then come with me
You're not on your own, see?
Feeling right at home with the Freaks
You can run and hide, go to sleep
But if you're raging up inside it's best you scream
That’s me
They wanna call us the Freaks
We're so much more than they see
We chose our own family
OGGY OGGY OGGY - OY OY OY
Yeah we got them running - OY OY OY
We ain't scared of nothing - OY OY OY
Start a riot baby, riot crazy - OY OY OY
OGGY OGGY OGGY - OY OY OY
Yeah we got them running - OY OY OY
Something worse is coming - OY OY OY
ALT BLK ERA’s coming for you - OY OY OY
Dyed hair, black clothes, so mean?
So you hid yourself In the seams
Step out of your room, let em see
You're not alone, there's a billion of me
Best to be yourself in our team
They don't understand what u need
You don't need their love cause its weak
and they just told you take your life, through a screen
Don't bleed
Cause when the cuts felt so sweet
You weren't apart of the A-B-E
You're now an I and a we
OGGY OGGY OGGY - OY OY OY
Yeah we got them running - OY OY OY
We ain't scared of nothing - OY OY OY
Start a riot baby, riot crazy - OY OY OY
OGGY OGGY OGGY - OY OY OY
Yeah we got them running - OY OY OY
Something worse is coming - OY OY OY
ALT BLK ERA’s coming for you - OY OY OY
OGGY OGGY OGGY - OY OY OY
Yeah we got them running - OY OY OY
OGGY OGGY OGGY - OY OY OY
ALT BLK ERA’s coming for you - OY OY OY
Dana Dan was my introduction to this album, somehow right before watching Monkey Man, where it features in the Hijra fight scene. And I adore that song, but both Aaj and Endurant fill me with such a sense of hope and self and empowerment that I can't help but put Endurant at number one with Aaj right behind it.
As a mixed race desi girl in diaspora with very little connection to my culture, it feels like a kind of welcome home message in this album. love you guys. luthienlapine
I hesitate to call Zeal & Ardor fully realized because I know there are places Manuel and the band still want to take their listeners. You can feel it in this release, the first as a full band. There is literally something for everyone on Greif, but the core of the album is still tied to Z&A's past. The heaviness and aggressiveness are still pervasively there. I think the criticisms of the album are missing that aspect. Looking forward to hearing where they take us next. scotttomino
