FASHION AND ECOLOGY ARE DIFFICULT BED FELLOWS, BILLIONAIRES CARRY ON FLYING

The elites released the bio weapon and now they are trying to make a vaccine for COVID19, which in turn made them 75 billion or more. Profiting from both. They locked the population of the world up and proceeded to fly around in private jets preaching about climate change, and bankrupting most countries at the same time. The Chinese, Bill Gates and Dr Fauci are at the forefront of this scandal. They are trying to chip us too. If fake news say it we believe it.
I am a Fashion Editor and climate change issues obviously do not agree with each other. There are huge numbers of people working within the industry in factories, shops, magazines, it gives work to thousands of  people.  The dark side is consumption and waste which has become intolerable, Fashion Houses suggest we buy at full price and not at discounts. What we should do is buy fewer clothes and better as Vivienne Westwood suggested.  The Fashion Industry is huge and pollutes the air and waters with dye and debris.  It has a problem with workers in poorly paid sweat shops all over the Far East, especially China where incidentally the virus came from.  There are too many seasons, shows and the magazines can no longer afford to send their editors to report on the shows anymore. In any case it is all on line and I have been working at Genlux for years like this.  I predict we will see only a very few slimline shows as most will be online.  Production has been cancelled for many brands. If you like something I suggest you order it now as in the future nobody knows what is going to happen.

As Lock up/Lock down ends helicopters fly endlessly above me. The loss of a man in the care of police in America is an unacceptable reality. We have to change our attitudes and empower people near us to become successes. If everybody helped one person we would be able to change the world. It should not matter where they come from but if you see talent encourage the person. Going dark on Instagram does not help anyone it just makes you look like sheep.

America will be 'at political'  war between June and the elections in November with many  flamboyant stunts being used all at once by the 'Deep State'. Expect demonstrations endless memes, scandals, drama and aggression whilst the onlooker is kept on a precipice. Billionaires will just carry on flying. It is all very obvious what is going on. The protests are bringing an all grey zones together.

THREE ENGLISH WOMEN ON COVERS OF GENLUX MAGAZINE

The good things about Los Angeles you can go from one extreme to another. One minute at Physique57 to an extreme yoga work out in Beverly Hill, the next, go on a hike in the hills above Sunset. One minute you can be meeting some famous dude, and the next having coffee with a homeless girl whose life did not have a plan B. Yesterday I met two friends both concerned about girls with no plan A, B, C or D, who arrive in Los Angeles, with stars in their eyes.  Julia Verdin is making a film to help these unfortunate girls. This city can be harsh if you have no plans, cash or talent. It is for the highly ambitious and you need to have direction otherwise you could end up doing things you would rather not be involved in. The underbelly is very colourful.
Listen to the advice that Bernard Hillier gives on Lip TV. Follow it, because its true.
In Los Angeles I love to stay at The Chateau Marmont because it is lively and the crowd good-looking. The cottages there are completely divine in a not too luxurious way, although they have everything.
There is another good thing about LA you get encouraged, and as an English woman of uncertain age I have been given opportunities that simply would not happen in London. I would love to work as a fashion editor in London, but the Los Angeles based magazine, Genlux, asked me. I am also on a billboard for my film in Hollywood, The gun the cake and the butterfly  and so my loyalty has to be to this incredible city where the lights are harsh but boy when it shines on you, it shines.  The following are three English women who were given covers on my Magazine who supports women of uncertain age.. Elizabeth Hurley from the new series The Royals about the Royal Household, a spoof on what its like in the Palace, Lisa Vanderpump of Beverly Hills Housewives and lastly me.

COFFEE
Arriving in London off the plane, I immediately was interviewed for a television programme about exotic goods. I never realised that a coffee bean could be so expensive, and a cup of coffee could be three hundred and fifty pounds. That it was really created by a cat, called a wild civet, that eats the fruit and expels the bean through bodily functions. I wondered during the interview if I was being set up, but as I had just got off a plane was hardly in a state to argue?. The coffee I was assured was made with the cats running about freely in  Sumatra. However you simply do not know. It all tasted so delicious, but so does Foie gras.

DIOR AND I
a film by Frederic Tcheng
I was lucky enough to be invited to Charles Finch's exclusive opening of Dior and I, which seriously touched me and rocked my soul. Although sadly Galliano was "exterminated" from the film, I can honestly say that the documentary drama of Raf's first couture show, had me gasping in so many directions. I fell for the women working behind the scenes creating beautiful dresses that they found difficult to let go. One woman Monique was so brilliant that I wanted to hug her. It was moving and telling. Raf himself showed humility, stubbornness, frailty, distance, vision and panache. I became aware of the costs of these couture shows, which I already knew about, but for me this film brought home the real costs of human pressure and the cost of talent. You realised the pressure Galliano had been under as you saw Raf Simons break down in tears. You understood without anything being said. I was glad however that Suzy Menkes stood up and said something about Galliano not being mentioned. I understand why he was not, but for goodness sake has he not been punished enough? Galliano had brilliance that few have and we desperately need him, back, working and confident. Thank goodness Martin Margiela took him on.

Among the guests were Danny Huston, Bianca Jagger, Bryan and Tara Ferry and the lovely Nicky Haslam. Danny Huston and I were discussing the costs of flowers for the show, I used to work at Kenneth Turner Flowers and I can only imagine the drama of budget.
All I can say is thank you for including me.

LOS ANGELES WHERE SMALL IDEAS ARE ALLOWED TO GROW, IT IS WHAT BRITWEEK IS ALL ABOUT.

I have at last finished my film, well I think I have. You never know if Hector Abaunza gets bored and fills a few gaps with new exciting footage. As The gun the cake and the butterfly is a documentary drama it works I think updating the footage.

Britweek's support has been incredible. My film The gun the cake and the butterfly played to a full house and I had a wonderful audience. I had generous sponsors, my associates at Pyxit.com, Mulberry Love a delicious drink that makes you skinny and healthy, Brits in LA, Britweek, Peroni and Genlux.  Sponsors and support from companies is wonderful.

The red carpet is so important here in Los Angeles, it is funny some people just come for it and some people hide away from it. Some people want to jump onto it even if they are not well known. It makes the event so exciting. It is a full-time job, I never realized before just how much work goes into it. Jane Owen is an expert at it.  Her assistants write names on boards for the press so they know who everybody is. It is fake nonfake.

I love Los Angeles and living in  Palm Springs idea came and went. Despite the incredible architecture, I am happy here. I arrived on a sunny day in February and have never wanted to leave. It has encouraged me with all my dreams, this is the attractive thing about Hollywood. If you have the enthusiasm and drive anything is possible.

BRITWEEK

Britweek is an incredible association. It encourages the growth of companies and communication between the United Kingdom and Los Angeles for two weeks.  Set up by Bob Peirce and Nigel Lythgoe, it is effective. With sponsors like Jaguar, Aston Martin, Boots, Digestive Biscuits, it is truly British.
Thank you for being part of their programme.

BRITISH FAB GIRLS ROCK "FLORALS" FOR COACHELLA,but not for a minute was I Cinderella, Britweek and Genlux Magazine rock.

I dislike the word "rock" but shall use it, as have to stay in tune with my younger generation of friends. They adore sayings like "no worries" "that rocks" "at the end of the day" "you know what I mean"
"like" and worst of all  "selfie". I shall hang onto punctuation like my son, Charles, hangs onto 18th Century opera.
Fashion this week end in Coachella "rocked" outside The Beverly Hills Hotel, Whole Foods and The Chateau Marmont, heaven knows what it looked like at the "end of the day" so "no worries" you had better take that "selfie" early on, as on line they will let you know whether "they" "like it" or not. Forgive punctuation as I don't think there is any, anymore, just dots and an emoji if they really like you. That is what to expect from somebody you really admire, two dots and a bracket, an alien or a sun with a smile on it.
I have visited Fred Segals on Melrose and Reformation for that rock/chic/casual style for next week end. I could not go to Coachella this week end. I have guests who are lots of fun and I do not feel I am Cinderella.

Amanda Rocking spanx in high heels with Rick Owens jacket and cat eyes at  Wholefoods.
Olivia Dehavilland, Alice Dawson, Mary Charteris and Poppy Delevingne.
Andy Wang glasses, Rick Owens jacket with Miss Alice in Her Palace, at the Chateau.

Alice Naylor Leyland, Mary Charteris, Olivia Buckingham, Amanda Eliasch in her black matt customised mustang.

Here I am trying to keep up. I suppose I should mention how I know them. I am the adopted God Mother to Alice Naylor Leyland, and I went to school with Poppy Delevingne's mother when I was seven years old. Pandora stopped a girl beating me up on a regular basis. She cannot remember this, but of course I do.
The girls looked so pretty in floral and white dresses. Alice changed at least three times, from a white dress, to the yellow, to a pair of floral shorts. Tired but pretty they left me in Hollywood with smiling faces, for their week end ahead at the Rock Festival. Poppy was dashing around auditioning and flying by helicopter, instead of driving for two hours,  to the popular musical festival after yet another hen night. The other girls were exhausted and took refuge at my house here.

It has been a good week. I made my second magazine cover in one year thanks to my friend Sean Borg who negotiated it. He now understands the meaning of coup de foudre which sadly my realtors have not experienced.  Genlux has beautifully produced this months magazine and included me on the cover for Britweek with six pages inside. I am lucky and know now how it could feel to be a model. Stunningly produced by Stephen Kamifugi I am thrilled with the results, Maxfields, my favourite shop leant me the clothes I love to wear, along with Gregory's. Check out their shoes at Fred Segals.
I also have spent a good deal of time in the kitchen and Whole Foods. My friend Catherine Vanazzi wrote about my healthy eating from Brazil. Not a goody goody naturally.

I am proud and happy to be included in Britweek's special issue. I am showing my film that I directed, The gun the cake and the butterfly on the 28th April for those that would like to see it at the Arclight.

I have been stirring the pot for my good friend  and creative genius Pablo Ganguli, the brilliant force behind Liberatum. He is  entertaining, and he has managed to create fascinating evenings, small versions of what he is really good at, putting intellectual creatives together to make music, putting people together that would not normally meet, to talk art, fashion and corruption, peppered with laughter, music and culture of the day. Brilliant photographers Mert and Marcus popped in last night, Mert played the piano beautifully.  Two nights ago, we had witty conversation with Brett Easton Ellis about the life and crimes of Hollywood.

It's seriously good to be here in Los Angeles with such a force of nature.

FROM LA TO NY AND MARC JACOBS

MUI MUI
At dinner tonight I went through all the things I had done in the week, a whirlwind from one day to the next, LA NY LDN. So much generosity shown by people, Justin Resnik lending me a divine horse to ride for my film, called Oz who I am now in love with.
Then there was the Genlux Magazine launch, seeing friends from all over Los Angeles and the success of the magazine which goes from strength to strength.
Visiting Venice Beach and watching a girl called Kara swing on bars on the beach, she is definitely any mans dream and the Queen of rings in Santa Monica. So beautiful that I want to put her into my film.
Followed by coming to New York and rushing around finishing  off with The Marc Jacob's Fashion show which was over far too soon. My friend Justine who never goes said "My goodness all this for a ten minute show?". Precisely my point.  All the hard work, but as it came through mirrored doors the whole thing was over.

I love Marc's clothes and love the scandal caused by my facebook friend Angel Barta too. Definitely his attention has moved now to a Jean Shrimpton crossed with a nanny look. Almost modern but not. Long frumpy skirts made cool with geometric patterns and boxy jackets Trendy yet dowdy.  Bold stripes with tiny handbags.  I nearly liked it but everybody else cheered at the well dressed handsome Marc as he came to take his bow. I loved the hair swept across the face, I am having it tomorrow from Snowden Hill.

WINGING IT HERE IN LOS ANGELES

A BEAUTIFUL HORSE CALLED OZ
MERLIN MY WELSH COB ON A GOOD DAY
I have been filming all week in Los Angeles with my wonderful team, getting cutaways and bringing "Winging it" up to date. My life here feels good.  I have ridden at Justin Resnik's stable and have fallen in love with a beautiful horse Oz. A horse and a dog in one month must mean I am going back to my roots?
JUSTINE GLENTON
I also filmed the team from As I like it, Elizabeth Karr and Lisa Zane and  Isabella Sfez has done a clip that shows how much fun we all had. My film Winging It is coming together. A play on words of course.  I seriously have always winged everything. Justine Glenton is  professional too, and I think we have just about covered everything, including Fashion Night Out's  Genlux Party where very sadly I lost my new Alexander Wang cats eye sunglasses, favoured by Rihanna, which I bought from Maxfields. The party was on the top of The Beverly Centre and included members of the fashionable Kardashian family. George Blodwell has been styling my film as always, and I adore the riding clothes he found for Justine.

JUSTIN RESNIK, SHOW JUMPING CHAMPION TEACHING ME ON MARK BRAZIER JONES'S TALLY HO CHAIR

I have lived a whirlwind the last two days hanging out with Genlux's Editor at Large George Blodwell. I had an hysterical time listening to a ridiculous conversation from a Publicist who was busy telling him off about hanging out with trashy people.  In any case I was about to get a little cross as Justin Resnik and I are hardly trashy, when she says" You should hang out with Amanda Eliasch more, now she is seriously chic"  I feel all puffed up and nearly taken in.
I have had many riding lessons, but the thought of going bareback around the Hollywood sign at midnight, evan with Justin, who is a brilliant rider and show jumping champion, just does not fill my boots, however tempting it may sound, as he does own some of the most beautiful horses in the world. I have not been on the back of a horse properly since I fell off my Welsh Cobb, hunting.
Mercury is in retrograde and weird things keep happening. My long lost Grandmother who had disappeared when my father was 8, called Velda has suddenly turned up through a cousin of mine that I did not know I had.  I have been looking at her marriage certificate and she appears to have been married at 13. If so, no wonder she left my Grandfather after she had three children. I would have done so too.  My long lost cousin sent me loads of photographs and my Great Grandfather had the same hands as I did and looked like my Father who I only met 12 times.
In between living in the past I managed to see the work of Abigail Slotkin, who makes jewelled telephones and covers for Ipads. The new one from Apple comes out today so I shall try and stand in line. I also met Amber Sakai last night with Marilyn Heston, she does a really good week end range of clothes that will pack perfectly into a brief case. Really well cut and in black they are entirely useful as well as funky.  I then dashed off with Justin and George for dinner with Peter Medak and Cindy Cowan who was fresh from preparing for her next film.  Soho House was packed but worth it.

FASHION's LOST ITS WAY IN PARIS, IT's ALL ABOUT CASHY CASH

A much more entertaining time with Victoria Grant
I am in the world's centre of Fashion, Paris. But instead of beating through the barriers I am going to spend the afternoon with Victoria Grant, one of the most charming milliners in the business, and have some fun. The shows can wait, because they make me wait.
What can I say about fashion, this multi-million pound business, this business that I have loved all my life, and the pleasure of seeing its shows and the new seasons come and go? Can I be truthful? Well, the truth is this: because all the houses are huge and money is their raison d'etre, the whole business has become contaminated. Talented designers are lured and bribed with mansions, limos, flunkeys, and their creativity diminishes. The result? The business has lost, through greed, so many talented designers that now the clothes look plain ordinary. The seasons come and go and really never change. What is the point of a fashion show if showing is so dull? As I advised the other day, go to the back of your wardrobe and become your own stylist. Let's fight back! The designers should remain small and attractive entities under their own brand names.
I used to love the shows, but the amount of calls I have had to place already makes going a total bore. Then on top of that, you arrive and are treated like you are entering a prison camp, by big burly clipboard-Nazi bouncers. Now, this won't happen to Franca Sozzani and Anna Wintour, who are treated with the respect they deserve. But I too am an editor for Genlux Magazine, in Los Angeles, where the clothes are actually worn, by people who can afford them and need them, and here I am writing this! So perhaps the PR companies could be a little more polite and see what is happening to this once wonderful profession.
Does it have to be about selling scent to impressionable women in the duty free shops? Should it be about the amount of adverting space Louis Vuitton takes in Vogue?  Marc Jacobs is more talented than this.
(And by the way, the only one houses with any manners – which these days seem a rarity – were Vivienne Westwood, who sent an invitation without nagging, and Alexander McQueen... perhaps because I bought the whole shop?)
Marc Jacobs sadly has not a good memory, I bought all his real collection, and his one for Louis Vuitton and lived in a fairy alice dress all last year, with three sparkly bags, I am more than faithful. Okay he is in America, but he represents a French house. As for Chanel, well... it was impossible....
Oh well...
Wearing Marc Jacobs dress, with a Mui Mui shawl and YSL shoes for the Britannia  Awards, Los Angeles
Wearing Alexander Mcqueen coat, Emilia Wickstead dress, Louix Vuitton belt, Chanel Sunglasses,
Europe is broke and do these houses want to turn away a rich editor who actually buys her clothes and who represents a much richer economy?

Wednesday, 21 December 2011

The play is rehearsing downstairs on a very sunny day in Los Angeles.  Lisa's dulcet tones are hitting my bedroom and I feel at home with opera and the passion of Elizabeth Karr's inflections as she speaks the play I wrote. I miss my English cast of course, I even miss Lyall Watson too.  What can I say? The set goes in tomorrow designed by the brilliant Trip Haenisch, he was a neighbour of mine in Eden Place my favourite house that I briefly owned in Los Angeles.  Of course I like many interior designers and used Nicky Haslam for the previous production and Martyn Lawrence Bullard for my latest house in Los Angeles. Trip has panache.

My body is coming together after the plastic surgery. People in this city can look like they don't belong to their body. I did a thigh lift and tummy tuck and nearly six weeks later I have very tiny scars thanks to the good nursing from my friend Julia Laverne who nursed me through some rather painful moments. My son Jack says they look incredible and he is a tough judge.

I went to Carnage, Polanki's new film which is brilliantly directed, I laughed all the way through it.  Jodi Foster was incredibly funny.

I writing a list of clothes I would like to wear in the Spring edition for Genlux.  The magazine splashes with colour now Chriselle Lim has taken over as director. Of course I still love black and will probably always only wear it. However this Spring there are lovely block colours being used by Louis Vuitton and Prada. Softer than normal. Chriselle is a talented new edition and has a brilliant blog describing what she wears each day.
I love my Alexander Mcqueen coat I bought at the beginning of the season, I live in it.
