My dad taught me this tune when I was maybe 7 or 8, and I remember it being the first tune I really connected with. We would play it together at festivals, often as a duet with my dad on mandolin or banjo. It felt only right to record this tune as a fiddle duet with my dad. We kept the melody pretty simple, the way we used to play it when I was younger.
