I am very surprised with this product, as I expected it to get very ugly and dirty in little time, and be sticky to the skin. Specially since I bought the yellow color (and you know how finicky that color is).
However, it is easy to swipe off most dirt, and heavy cleaning is very easy and simple. Plus, I swipe every other week, and have only heavy cleaned once.
The material is also very breathable, and surprisingly durable. Some indentations have occurred due to a fan with sharp edges on the base and I thought it would be permanent, but it has healed quite well from that (though gotta say, the fan was only on top of it for a few hours, so it probably didn't do too much damage).
Having said that, I do make sure to only have the keyboard, mouse and notebooks on top. Try to avoid putting heavy things on top for too long. and I also avoid eating on top of it (though have done so. Specially cup of coffee). So, is not like mine has gone through such hard battles if you know what I mean; thought it doesn't require too much maintenance. Looks neat, and works perfectly for the mouse while protecting your desk.
All in all, a good product that is also a great gift.
