There are a few informative pages, regarding essential equipment, and necessary pantry items (but not too many pages) I dislike cookbooks that have 60 pages of “information “ about baking.. The English Toffee turned out fantastic. I’m looking forward to making the Hazelnut Brownie Pie, Lemon Sour Cream Pie, Chocolate Buttercream Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies, and the the Saltine Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars. The only recipes I don’t care for are the drink recipes, raisin pie, sweet potato donuts, and rum balls.

Sono stata conquistata dai colori pastello delle immagini e dalle improbabili pirofile decorate, ma devo dire che le ricette si sono rivelate piu' che soddisfacenti. Si tratta di ricette della tradizione nordamericana, canadese in particolare, ovviamente ricche di zuccheri e grassi, ma perfette per le occasioni speciali o per una buona merenda sfiziosa.

I've been following The Kitchen Magpie for some time on Facebook and Pinterest. I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first cookbook as I love all the recipes she posts. I wasn't disappointed! From the introduction and all throughout the book contain heartfelt stories and passages before each recipe. Her stories remind me of the women in my family, and the cherished recipes handed down to me from my grandmother and aunts. The photos of each recipe are beautiful and feature her Pyrex collection, adding to the nostalgia if each recipe. I bought this book for Kindle but loved it so much I also bought a hard copy! Can't wait to see your next cookbook, Kitchen Magpie (Karlynn Johnston)!
