Product Description

Stuffs roughly 100-125 lbs. 32 - 35 mm (1¼ - 1½ inch) in Diameter. Processor Pack brand casings are made to the highest quality standards at DeWied. Natural Hog Casings Are Best used for Fresh Sausage (such as Bratwurst, Pork Sausage Links, Kielbasa etc.) BUT - Natural Hog Casings CAN be smoked. 1 lb. of meat uses approximately 2 feet of natural hog casings. Whisker free, pre-flushed and vacuum bagged. 32mm-35mm. 1st quality natural sausage casings. Stuffing capacities vary according to the number of links per pound and how tight the casing is stuffed. Although our natural hog casings are held to firm specifications, there may be a slight variance in stuffing diameter, hence 32mm - 35mm. This may also have an impact on stuffing capacity. Normal stuffing capacity for a hank of hog casings is 100 to 120 pounds or more. Use for fresh or smoked sausage. Bratwurst, Polish sausage, and Italian sausage. 32-35mm pork casings can also used to stuff pepperoni. Store casings in the original bag in the refrigerator until time for use. Hog casings stored in the original bag have been shown to keep up to four years in the refrigerator. Some odor is normal with natural casings especially in warm weather and this should disappear with a rinse in fresh water. Casings should be soaked in luke warm water for 30minutes before use. This helps to open the pores of the casing and makes them easier to handle. DO NOT USE HOT WATER as this may actually cook the casing rendering them useless. DO NOT FREEZE

Good product
I made sausages yesterday the casings were very good. I only had one blow out that was more than like my error. the one problem I had was I was concerned about the shipping. I would think they would be shipped in a ice pack in order to preserve the freshness. Here in southern New Mexico, it gets quite hot, but they seem to be packed well in salt and had no bad smell when opened and prepped for use. Will purchase again.

I'm going to keep this on my list to buy again. Not sure what was different, but this product worked flawlessly. I have four hunting buddies, and every year we get together for a Sausage Party. Around September, before hunting season, we gather at my place for all our leftover venison, and cut with pork butts/and/or/shoulders. I have a homemade grinder I made 15 years ago that will dispose of anything you dump into it. And a nice stuffer. We've always had casing problems with the stuffer. I always got them local from Gander (something). This year, they closed the place, so I ordered from here. What a difference. Again, not sure what I 'may' have done different, but these blazed on the tube and were awesome. Easy to get on the tube, nice snug twist at the 7-8" mark, all good. Repeat. Out of 100+ lbs, I might have busted 3 or 4 (and probably my fault). I can live with that. I'll buy again this year/next around close out season, but I really looked like a Boss on that stuffer. We finished with about 18" of casing left over and 15 lbs product left over for bags/packages. Totally impressed. Bow hunting season starts in two weeks here. I think we're ready. Again, what's normally a fisti-cuff time of year was pretty awesome. Everyone went home intact this year with no bruised faces or feelings. I'll post some photos, soon, and maybe with what I did to ensure success. They were super long, and had a ring to pull them off. Minimum tangling, just a few knots. Overall: Impressed. Will buy again.

These casings are fantastic quality. I order about once a year, and have bought 4-5 times and hope this business thrives so they continue to deliver this quality product.

I make my own Bulgarian style dry cured sausage that requires a strong and lean casing, and these casings are perfect for that. They are thin and lean but very hard to break, unlike others I've tried, when stuffing with a Weston vertical stuffer, which can exert quite a bit of pressure. The casings are perfectly clean, have no residual heavy smell, and are very long and uniform in width and strength across the length. I am seriously amazed as to how uniform they are.

When I have leftover casings after stuffing, I return them back to the package, add a liberal amount of salt and some vinegar (vinegar basically pickles them and then they can last literally years in mildly cold storage) and put them in the fridge and when I use them months later, they retain their clean smell and quality. I've also frozen them and used them after thawing, with no impact whatsoever on their quality.

Overall, really a fantastic product. Thanks to the producer, keep up the good work.

Good value. Casing needed to be flushed with water (inside the casing) or they did not come of the stuffer horn smoothly.
I like them enough to reorder at a higher price. My first buy was when casing were on sale.
I know now to flush before use. I have used a large number of casing over the years and this is the first time I have had to flush out casing.
    I still recommend these.

I purchased these casings this summer to use to make venison brats this fall and I was very pleased with the quality of the casing, texture and how easy they were to work with, I had only used collagen casings in the past and I was slightly apprehensive hearing horror stories of trying to use natural casings, those proved to not be true in this situation and I really think that had to do with this product, I will absolutely buy these again, my only criticism is the packaging, I would like a resealable bag because in my case I wasn’t making 100 pounds of brats at 1 time, and only used about half the package and had to store the rest a few months, but I understand if that is cost prohibitive, either way is easily remedied, it just put the unused casings in a ziplock bag and put them in the refrigerator, but in conclusion I would recommend these casings to anyone you won’t be disappointed

I am somewhat skeptical ordering fresh meat and/or meat products online. I would rather buy locally, if available. But I saw this on Amazon. The price was perfect. So I decided to try.

I received the casing two days after placing my order. The casings were very well packaged. Aside from being sealed in the pictured packaging, they were again sealed in two other packaging. The outermost packaging was insulated. Very, very well done. The casings were EXACTLY as described. Instructions are clearly stated.

What impressed me more so was the packaging slip/invoice that was included with my order. The company's guarantee is absolutely insane! 100% Money Back Guarantee...within 1 year of receipt??? Absolutely crazy! This company stands by their product. Craig, the owner of "Ask The Meatman", even took the time to thank me (handwritten) for my order. THIS is how to treat customers...THIS is how to do business.

I thought it was only right to make this product review. Thank you very much, Craig, for being "old-school" professional! You definitely have my business.

We ordered this product twice. They came in different packaging the second time (first time in December the package was as pictured, second one in March, different) but the product seems to be the same. We were able to stuff 100+ pounds with the first package, very few breaks; nice, long casings. about 1 1/4 inch diameter when filled. We kept the leftovers in salt water in the fridge and they stayed good. My only concern is that they are not kept refrigerated at the Amazon warehouse, but they were not spoiled or smelled rotten (they do have a smell, of course, but nothing foul). I will recommend this product.
