Crochet Acorns and Toadstool Wreath

 

Het is een tijd geleden dat ik een blogbericht schreef, maar ik heb onlangs een aantal dingen gehaakt die ik heel graag met jullie wil delen. Dus hier ben ik weer! Ik hoop de komende tijd wat regelmatiger te bloggen om te kunnen laten zien wat ik heb gemaakt. Zo kan ik ook meteen de links delen naar een aantal superleuke gratis patronen. De krans op de foto is een van mijn laatste projecten. Voor het maken van deze krans heb ik drie verschillende patroontjes gebruikt. Ten eerste het patroon van de kleine eikeltjes. Dat patroon is van mijzelf en dat vind je hier op mijn blog. Het is een heel makkelijk patroontje, het enige wat je nodig hebt zijn de hoedjes van de eikels die buiten liggen. De grotere eikels heb ik gehaakt aan de hand van dit leuke patroon. Ik maakte de 'medium' en dat formaat past precies bij deze krans. Ik maakte ook de grote eikels uit dat patroon (zie foto onder), maar die eikels heb ik nooit voor deze krans gebruikt omdat ze daar te groot voor waren. Maar daar ga ik vast nog wel iets anders voor verzinnen. Als laatste haakte ik een paar paddestoelen en daar gebruikte ik een eigen patroontje voor. Dat heb ik uitgeschreven en vind je hieronder (scroll even helemaal naar beneden voor de Nederlandse en Engelse versie). Ik hoop dat je het leuk vindt en ik wens je veel haakplezier toe!

It has been some time since I've written a blog post, but lately I've been crocheting a few projects that I've been looking forward to share with you. So here I am again! I hope to blog a bit more regularly in the upcoming weeks to show you what I've made and to share the links to some great free patterns. The wreath on the photo is one of my latest projects. There are three patterns that you need for this wreath. First of all the small acorns. This is a pattern of myself and you can find it here on my blog. It's a really easy pattern, all you need are soms acorn cups that you can find outside. The large acorns are made with this cute pattern. I made the medium sized acorns and the size fits this wreath perfectly. I also made the large acorns from this pattern (see photo below), but I never used them for this wreath as they were too big for the wreath. But I'm sure I'll find something else to use them for. And last but not least the toadstools. I've written my own pattern for them. You can find it below (scroll down past the Dutch pattern, then there's English pattern). 6. 1SC in each stitch around. (30)
7. 4SC, INC. Repeat around. (36)
8. 1SC in each stitch around. (30) Change to white yarn.
9. 1SC in each stitch around, crochet in the back loops only. (36)

Een hele tijd geleden deelde ik de link naar dit gratis patroontje van een eikel al eens. Ik haakte deze eikels toen in felle kleuren, maar dit keer heb ik ze in pastelkleuren gehaakt. Dit weekend vond ik een krans van stro bij het tuincentrum, dus ik denk dat ik ze daar op ga bevestigen. Misschien haak ik er nog wat gehaakte blaadjes en paddestoelen bij zodat het een mooie volle krans wordt. A long time ago I shared the link to this free acorn pattern. I crocheted these acorns then in bright colors, but this time I crocheted them in pastel colors. This weekend I found a straw wreath at the garden center, so I think I'm going to attach them to that. Maybe I'll add some crocheted leaves and mushrooms too to make it a nice full wreath. Acorns: free pattern!

Het is er de tijd van het jaar weer voor: eikels! Dit mooie patroontje vond ik een paar jaar geleden op deze website en ik heb er oneindig veel van gemaakt. Helaas alleen in het Engels beschikbaar, maar heel moeilijk is het niet dus misschien moet je het gewoon eens proberen. Ik haakte deze eikels met Drops Paris. Je zou ze ook kunnen haken met Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran. Voor beide garens gebruik ik een haaknaald 4mm.

It's that time of year again: acorns! I found this lovely pattern a couple of years ago on this website and I made numerous of them. It's only available in English (which is a pity for those who can't read English patterns) but it's not very difficult so perhaps you can give it a try. I made these acorns with Drops Paris. You could also make them with Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran. For both yarns I use a crochet hook size 4mm.

Monday Pattern Day: Acorns!

Een tijdje geleden kreeg ik een mailtje van Catherine Janssens uit Belgie waarin ze schreef dat ze dacht dat ik het ecologische katoen uit haar webwinkel wel mooi zou vinden (update: de webwinkel bestaat niet meer). Ze beloofde me een staaltje te sturen, maar in plaats daarvan kreeg ik een prachtige bol katoen van het merk BC Garn. Ik was (en ben) er heel blij mee want het haakt echt fantastisch. Nogmaals heel erg bedankt Catherine!
Hieronder vind je het patroontje van de eikels die ik maakte met de katoen. De hoedjes van de eikels heb ik op straat gevonden :-)

Some time ago I received an email of Catherine Janssens from Belgium telling me she thought I might like the ecological cotton from her webshop (update: the webshop has closed). Ze promised me to send me a sample, but instead I got a lovely ball of cotton of the brand BC Garn. I was (and still am) very happy with it because it is really lovely to work with. Thanks again Catherine! Below you will find the pattern of the acorns that I made with the cotton. I collected the caps of the acorns on the street :-)

Patroon (haak met garen geschikt voor een haaknaald 2.5mm)
1. Haak 6V in een magische ring. Je kunt hier zien hoe je een magische ring maakt. (6)
2. Elke steek meerderen. (12)
3. 12V.
4. 12V.
5. 12V.
6. 12V.
7. 12V.
8. 12V.
9. Minderen door elke twee steken samen te haken. (6) Afhechten.
Als je de eikel aan een touwtje in (bijvoorbeeld) een tak of een (kerst)boom wilt hangen, lijm 'm dan vast in het hoedje.

Pattern (use yarn for crochet hook size 2.5mm)
1. SC6 in a magic ring. Go here for a tutorial of magic ring. (6)
2. Decrease every stitch. (12)
3. 12SC.
4. 12SC.
5. 12SC.
6. 12SC.

9. Decrease around. (6) Finish off.
If you want to hang this acorn on a string in a branch or a (Christmas)tree, don't forget to glue the acorn in the cap.
