Alsvid is a curated and evolving collection of more than 180 routines for command line processing and analysis of astronomical and other data. The acronym Alsvid is also evocative of the old Norse Alsviðr, meaning ``Very Quick'', for one of the two horses who pull the Chariot of Sol across the sky. This is appropriate for opensource programs that were developed for powerful flexible data reduction with transparently readable code that dependably executes quickly, even with large image databases or parallel multi-image management requirements
The current catalog shares both Python and Julia code created to solve practical problems, and then validated and proven useful for research and teaching. Each file in the collection is free-standing, ready to read, adapt, or execute as-is on Linux, Windows, and macOS systems.
