If the features used\n\nto perform the clustering are interpretable then methods such as\n\nconceptual clustering can be used. However, in many applications\n\nthis is not the case particularly for image, graph and other complex\n\ndata. Here we explore the setting where a set of interpretable\n\ndiscrete tags for each instance is available. We formulate the\n\ndescriptive clustering problem as a bi-objective optimization\n\nto simultaneously find compact clusters using the features and to\n\ndescribe them using the tags. We present our formulation in a\n\ndeclarative platform and show it can be integrated into a standard\n\niterative algorithm to find all Pareto optimal solutions to the two\n\nobjectives. Preliminary results demonstrate the utility of our\n\napproach on real data sets for images and electronic health care\n\nrecords and that it outperforms single objective and multi-view clustering\n\nbaselines.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.24963\/ijcai.2018\/176","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,7,5]],"date-time":"2018-07-05T05:49:10Z","timestamp":1530769750000},"page":"1263-1269","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":5,"title":["Descriptive Clustering: ILP and CP Formulations with Applications"],"prefix":"10.24963","author":[{"given":"Thi-Bich-Hanh","family":"Dao","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"LIFO, University of Orl\u00e9ans, France"}]},{"given":"Chia-Tung","family":"Kuo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of California - Davis"}]},{"given":"S.
