I recently decided to become a seller on Etsy and planned to sell greeting cards. About a week ago, I created an account and set up a shop. I came up with a name (it was available), but since my cards were still being designed, I figured I’d come back later to finish setting things up.

Fast forward to today — I finally finished my first collection and logged in, only to see this message:

“Your account is currently suspended. Etsy has suspended your account privileges. Please check your email for a message explaining why, and how to restore your account. If you have further questions, contact Etsy Support.”

So I’ve checked my inbox, and I received NO emails from Etsy about the account suspension.

I submitted an appeal, but the questions were super confusing — especially considering I haven’t even uploaded a single product yet. No listings, no sales, no activity at all… and I’m already suspended?

Just now, my third account got banned, and I have absolutely no idea why.

My first account was banned because I made a mistake during payment. Normally, you can just try again, but in this case, I received a message saying that my account was temporarily blocked for a few days while they investigated the payment issue. In the end, the account was never unblocked, even after I submitted an appeal. They just don’t read them—no responses, nothing.

Okay, so I created a second account. I made 5–6 purchases, and on the last one, there was an error with the shipping cost—it was higher than it should have been. I paid anyway, and everything seemed fine. Then the seller contacted me, saying they had found the error and kindly offered to cancel the order so I could place a new one with the correct (lower) shipping cost. That’s exactly what we did. Since I planned to reorder right away, when Etsy offered me a refund either back to my card (which would take 3–4 days) or to my account balance, I chose the account balance. Right after that, my account was banned, and no appeal helped. They just ignored them. My $60 remains locked to this day.

Unfortunately, some things have no alternatives, so I created a third account. This time, it got banned for no reason at all—I was just making a payment using the saved checkout details from my first purchase on this account.

I’ve never seen a service ban users this aggressively while completely ignoring customer support.
