See What’s New in iOS 26

More intelligent apps, parental peace of mind, and a gorgeous new design.

iOS 26 brings a stunning new design, a fun way to play together, and a more capable Apple Intelligence integrated into even more places. Here’s a quick tour.

Experience a gorgeous new design

A beautiful universal design crafted with Liquid Glass makes apps even more delightful—and your Home Screen and Lock Screen more personal and expressive. Check out these apps with widgets and icons that look especially striking in iOS 26.

Play together in the new Apple Games app

The Apple Games app is your all-in-one destination for the games you love and the friends you love to play them with. Get personalized suggestions for what to try next, browse can’t-miss events, see what games your friends are into, and invite them to competitive challenges on the Games app’s Friends tab. Apple Arcade’s incredible catalog of more than 200 games—all without ads or in-app purchases—is here too, so there’s plenty to discover and play.

Intelligence you can see

When browsing apps, shopping for products, or scrolling through images, you can now use visual intelligence to ask ChatGPT a question about anything on your iPhone screen or to do an image search in Google, Etsy, and other apps. Just take a screenshot to pull up the options. Try the new capabilities in these apps.

Stay in the know while on the go with CarPlay

With new widgets and Live Activities in CarPlay, you can keep tabs on a loved one’s flight status or the score of the big game—all while on the move.

Unlock greater accessibility

The new Accessibility Reader makes text in any app easier to read for users who are blind, who have low vision, or who have other disabilities affecting reading. With Braille Access, users with a connected braille display can quickly take notes, read documents, access Live Captions, launch apps, and perform other tasks. And Accessibility Nutrition Labels in the App Store, located on an app’s product page, tell you if features like VoiceOver, Voice Control, and captions are available in your favorite apps and games.

Get some parental peace of mind

The Communication Limits feature offers parents the ability to manage when their kids can communicate with others, applying limits across Phone, FaceTime, Messages, Shared Albums, and iCloud contacts. Now the feature extends to third-party apps, letting parents manage who their kids can chat with and follow or friend in supported apps and games.

Get a sense of what’s in an app

To help parents ensure their children are viewing age-appropriate content in apps, the Information section of an app’s product page on the App Store now shows the app’s age rating along with sensitive content you may find (such as cartoon violence or mature themes), what controls parents have access to, and capabilities like unrestricted web access.

See Live Activities on Mac

Live Activities from the Lock Screen of your iPhone now show on your Mac in the menu bar. It’s a great way to stay up to date on your favorite sports teams, rideshare info, and more. And when you click a Live Activity, the app opens in iPhone Mirroring. See it in action with these apps.

Do more from your wrist

With watchOS 26, your Smart Stack gets even better at suggesting the right widgets at the right time based on trends from your daily routine. Context clues including your location, sleep schedule, or fitness activity inform your Smart Stack to help surface relevant widgets—like traffic information on your commute or workout timers when you start exercising. Handy widgets in the apps below take full advantage of watchOS 26.

Supercharge your timers and alarms

Full-screen alarms. The ability to override Focus filters. Countdowns right on your Lock Screen. These Clock app superpowers are now available in third-party apps. Don’t snooze on these feature-filled alarm and timer apps.

A better way to journal

The latest version of the Journal app lets you create multiple journals—perfect for keeping your vacation memories and professional goals separate. And now that the Journal app is available on iPad and Mac, you’ll be ready to write whenever inspiration strikes.

Apple Intelligence is available in beta. Some features may not be available in all regions or languages.
