This is hands down my favourite thing she makes. I have so many incredible memories from
this cake… it’s impossible to write them all in one post.

Many Romanian versions of this have a softer cake, but our family uses a dough that is much more similar to North American pie crust.

I have seen Hungarian make apple
cake the same way, but I am sure there are similar recipes all over Europe.

Either way, it’s utterly delicious. Full recipe in my cookbook.
