Rooted Ceramics on Instagram: "I’m working on a new batch of travel mugs and really feel like I’ve mastered my process for throwing them on the wheel. After throwing the piece as tall as possible, I carefully collar in the rim and then flatten it using a wooden rib. I trim a lot off of the bottom of the piece to make sure it’s narrow enough for a cup-holder, and then carve the mouth piece / ice / beverage stopper on the top. These are so much fun to make but are definitely a labor of love. I’ll do a video on glazing them next! #pottery #handmade #coffeemug"

Studio Yōki Ceramic Flower Bud Vase

Small handbuilt Studio Yōki flowers vases ideal for miniature bouquets. Pinched and coiled in a flecked stoneware body accentuated with a textured sandy glaze. This vase is fully water tight so perfect for both fresh and dried flowers. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. Designed and handmade in the Studio Yōki pottery workshop in Glasgow.
