Stir-fried rice cakes are known in Chinese as “chao niángāo” (炒年糕). Our version uses pork (but you can substitute chicken) and leafy greens.

• 8 oz Pork shoulder or loin
Produce
• 8 oz Baby bok choy
• 2 cloves Garlic
• 3 Scallions
• 6 Shiitake mushrooms, dried
Condiments
• 2 tsp Oyster sauce
• 5 tsp Soy sauce, light
• 1 1/2 tsp Soy sauce, dark
Baking & Spices
• 1 tsp Cornstarch
• 1 Salt
• 1/2 tsp Sugar
• 1/4 tsp White pepper
• 1/4 tsp White pepper, ground
Oils & Vinegars
• 1 tsp Sesame oil
• 10 tsp Vegetable oil
Bread & Baked Goods
• 1 lb Rice cakes
Beer, Wine & Liquor
• 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
Liquids
• 9 tbsp Water
