Given the gravity of the situation, it seems almost inappropriate to discuss the music contained within. Even if I hated the bands on this collection, I’d encourage you to purchase it. However, that’s not the case – not only is this an important cause, the music here is top notch. As a fan of Cursed and Earth Crisis I figured the pedigree in this group was going to conjure some magic and boy was I correct. While a lot of “heavy” bands use speed or over technical riffing to convey “heavy”, SECT does it with smart writing, killer breaks and use of space to create heavy songs packed with atmosphere, groove and diversity. Even the bass player gets his time in the sun with slick grooves that really tie the songs together. Been on repeat since its release. Great record.
