Gun Control Activists Storm Tennessee State Capitol

Above, gun control activists storm Tennessee Capitol.

Left-wing anti-gunners stormed the Tennessee legislature today. It took a British media outlet to tell the truth.

The Daily Mail posted:

Gun control activists were seen storming Tennessee's State Capitol Thursday amid rising fears of a left-wing uprising at a rumored protest in Washington, DC.

Footage of the ongoing insurrection, posted to social media just before 2pm, shows progressive protesters attempting to enter the Nashville legislation building, and being batted away by several members of the city's sheriff's department.

Such dramatics were not exclusive to Nashville, however - as feelings of unrest continue to boil over after a recent mass shooting at a city school involving a transgender gunman who once attended the institution.

Bo Snerdley said it best at Twitter:

When liberals storm a legislative house - like in Tennessee today - the MSM doesn't talk about the end of Democracy.  Will the FBI track down every single one of these insurrectionists -and put them in jail?  Will Biden call them terrorists?

Only One Anti-Gun Bill Reached NM Governor's Desk

Above, the January 2020 Second Amendment Rally at the Capitol. Expect another
one if a special session is called by the governor. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

New Mexico's law-abiding gun owners got through this year's legislative session pretty lucky.

Only one anti-gun bill managed to reach the governor's desk. That was HB 9, the bill mandating the lock-up of firearms. It has a snowball's chance in hell of surviving a constitutional challenge.

Given the make-up of both houses of the legislature, predominantly Democrat, we made out pretty well. The only real question is whether or not the governor calls for a special session to take up more anti-Second Amendment legislation.

According to Piñon Post:

On Saturday at noon, the New Mexico House and Senate adjourned from the 2023 Legislative Session. The adjournment meant the death of many anti-gun proposals that would have restricted citizens’ constitutional rights. Only one bill, H.B. 9, mandating the lockup of firearms, passed and was signed by Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The dead gun-grabbing legislation includes S.B. 44 banning citizens from carrying a firearm within 100 feet of a polling place during an election, S.B. 428 targeting firearm retailers and manufacturers with frivolous lawsuits, H.B. 100 banning most firearms over 10-round capacity, and H.B. 101 mandating a 14-day waiting period before firearm purchases.

S.B. 427, which is similar to H.B. 101 banning magazine capacity, died, while S.B. 116, mandating a person must be 21 to purchase a firearm, did not make it across the finish line.

Thanks goes out to the Republican caucuses of both houses of the legislature and common sense Democrats who helped defeat the anti-gun bills.

If a special session is called by the governor to pass anti-gun bills, plans are underway to hold a massive rally at the Capitol by pro-Second Amendment citizens.

NM House Committee To Hear Anti-Gun Bill Tuesday

Above, the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

The first of several anti-Second Amendment bills introduced by left-wing Democrats during this legislative session in Santa Fe will be heard on Tuesday.

According to the Piñon Post:

On Tuesday, the New Mexico House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee (HCPAC) will meet to consider an extreme anti-gun bill, H.B. 9, sponsored by state Rep. Pamelya Herndon (D-Bernalillo).  It is also co-sponsored by the chairwoman of HCPAC, Rep. Joanne Ferrary (D-Doña Ana).

Herndon’s bill will force New Mexicans to lock up their firearms in “a gun safe or a device that prevents a firearm from being discharged or from being used to expel a projectile by the action of an explosion or a device other than a gun safe that locks a firearm and is designed to prevent children and unauthorized users from firing a firearm, which device may be installed on a firearm, be incorporated into the design of the firearm or prevent access to the firearm.”

If the gun owner does not lock up any and all firearms and their gun is somehow used in an offense by a minor causing “great bodily harm” or death, the parent of that child could be made a felon if the victim of the crime is killed or permanently disabled.

As noted by even some Democrats in the chamber during a July 2022 preview of the bill, it would be the first crime proposal to base a defendant’s sentence not on their own actions but that of someone else (a minor) who got ahold of a firearm.

Sad news came last night. Former President Donald Trump broke the news on Truth Social.

From Rolling Stone:

Diamond blazed a trail, founded on her passion and love for the entire race of humanity,” the post read, which was accompanied by a photo of Hardaway. The post also linked to to a Christian crowdfunding site where contributions will be received by Herneitha Rochelle Hardaway Richardson, who is also known as “Silk.”

Democrats Calling John Block An "Insurrectionist"

The so-called U.S. Capitol "riot" that took place on January 6, 2021 that the Democrats are trying to make hay over is being called an "insurrection".

In case you don't know what "insurrection" means:

a violent uprising against an authority or government.

It was a protest over the fraud-riddled 2020 election that got out of hand. Nothing more, nothing less. Remember also, the Capitol Police ushered in the protesters. There's plenty of eye-witnesses to this and video to back that up.

They are trying to paint any Republican candidate who was marching, that day are being painted as an "insurrectionist" by the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. This includes GOP state representative candidate John Block of New Mexico. He was there in Washington that day, but did not even step foot inside the Capitol building.

He found out that he is being tarred by the DLCC's broad brush as an "insurrectionist". He and others in the same situation should sue them.

Block sent me an email that begins with:

Armand,

One of the first things people will tell you if you plan to run for office is that it’s a good idea to google yourself from time to time. Well, I did that recently and this is what I found on the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) website:

Calling me an “insurrectionist,” the Democrats’ top legislative campaign committee in Washington D.C., sent out this press release days after we won the June 7 primary:

“Just this week, insurrectionist John Block won the Republican primary for New Mexico HD-51, joining insurrectionists eyeing elected office in 2022 in states like Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Texas.”

This desperate rhetoric is the same stuff the Fake News CNN and MSNBC talking heads have been pushing with the sham January 6th Witch Hunt against President Donald Trump. They lie through their teeth and bash law-abiding citizens as “insurrectionists.” They even claimed I’m “normalizing anti-democratic extremism.”

These leftists are parroting the same talking points being thrown out by Democrat Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, who tried to remove my county’s duly elected commissioners after they stood up against election fraud.

I won’t stand for the lies. This is the real reason they are attacking me: They know I will always stand up for election integrity, and I will expose their corruption while in the Legislature. The D.C. and Santa Fe Swamp Democrats are horrified.

If you're incensed over this kind of dirty politics, be sure to donate to Block's campaign.

Alexandria Ocasio-Smollett

From the Daily Caller:
  • “Alexandria Ocasio Smollett” and “AOC Lied” trended on Twitter amidst backlash over Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s tale of her experiences during the Capitol Riot.
  • The New York Democrat has repeatedly said she feared for her life, describing how she hid in her office bathroom after hearing loud banging and shouting on Jan. 6 before a Capitol Police officer burst into her office.
  • Critics pointed out that her office is not in the United States Capitol building, which rioters stormed that day, but in the Cannon office building down the street.

Cowboys for Trump's Couy Griffin Released

Above, a Cowboys for Trump ride in Grants, New Mexico in November 2019. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin has been ordered released by a federal judge.

From Politico

A prominent judge in Washington issued a surprise order Friday freeing a New Mexico county official who is charged with breaching police lines during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Otero County Commissioner and Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin, 47, was arrested near the Capitol three days before President Joe Biden's inauguration and has been in custody since that time.

It is interesting that Griffin was arrested for being inside the Capitol on January 6, being that there's videos of Capitol Police opening barriers and letting demonstrators inside.

The trial of Griffin and others is going to be interesting to see.

Judge Refuses To Release Couy Griffin

Above, a Cowboys for Trump ride in Grants, New Mexico in November 2019. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Entering the U.S. Capitol was a dumb move. Even dumber was that a high profile Trump supporter entered a restricted area in the Capitol and got himself arrested. Now he's stuck in jail in Washington, D.C.

Couy Griffin, a commissioner of New Mexico's Otero County was also a founder of the Cowboys for Trump group.

According to KOB 4:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin will remain in federal custody following his arrest for entering a restricted area during the Capitol riots.

Griffin's attorney argued that his client is "not a crazy person even though he has made some unfortunate statements."

In a now-deleted Facebook post, the founder of Cowboys for Trump made a prediction about Inauguration Day. He said “blood will run out of the building." He was arrested in Washington, D.C. ahead of Inauguration Day.

A preliminary hearing has been set for February 8.

A high profile person, such as Griffin, will only get the book thrown at them when a dumb move is made to make an example out of them.

Capitol Police Opened Doors For Protesters To Enter?

Above, Capitol Police herding protesters in after opening the barriers.

During the past few days, I've seen two different videos showing Capitol Police opening the barriers in the Capitol Plaza and allowing protesters to enter and make their way to the Capitol Building. I thought that was very strange, to say the least.

The screenshots that accompany this blog post are from the two videos.

Above, a different video showing a Capitol Police officer after the barriers
were opened. This same officer was shown waving protesters in.

Apparently, the Capitol Police went even further and opened the doors of the Capitol Building allowing the protesters to enter. I saw one video and it appears the protesters were filing in orderly after the doors were opened. There was no breach. It looks like the protesters were invited in.

Above, protesters walking in after the barriers were opened.

Now, a Texas congressman is calling for an investigation

From the Daily Wire:

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) demanded answers Friday after video emerged on social media that seemingly depicts Capitol Police opening the doors to pro-Trump protesters and allowing them to ascend the steps to the Rotunda.

Tweeting out the video from OAN reporter Christina Bobb, Roy said, “We need answers from the Capitol Police and Congressional leadership. Now.”

Yes, I totally agree!
