Imperialist n'allait pas se contenter de la conquête : grâce à Zenith, son album sophomore, il fonde son royaume doté de son propre écosystème gelé — devrais-je alors parler d'un pagosystème ? La violence supermassive constitue est toujours le fer de lance de son black metal cosmique, mais le quartette américain nous prive désormais des solos d'autrefois, histoire de ne laisser aucune bulle d'oxygène. Sergio Soto impressionne avec un chant plus travaillé, aussi dangereux que les vents solaires !

Le death metal sous sa forme mélodique est un genre que j'apprécie sans que ce soit ma tasse de thé pour autant — ça reste trop propre et contrôlé pour moi. Come The Tide a donc été une surprise car Eternal Storm m'a devancé, me faisant boire la tasse ! Au lieu de dominer le paysage à la manière de Caspar David Friedrich, la formation espagnole se le prend de plein fouet : les arpèges changent au fil des saisons, la batterie tonne et s'effondre, le chant alterne entre poésie et sauvagerie !
