It's Birthday Time

Hello everyone,
Thanks for stopping by. It's time for my Tuesday post over at Craft-Dee BowZ. And it's the last Tuesday of the month. Where has January flown to???

I thought I'd do a birthday card for you all.
Birthdays are always popping up, so it's always nice to see another take on this card theme.

This bear is so cute peeking thru the line of candles, I thought he'd make a cute birthday card.
This card is a pretty quick and easy card to put together.
And from time to time we all need a quick and easy card, don't we??
I used a yellow base card, next a dark gray panel
and then a designer paper panel on top of the gray panel.
Next, I used a digital image that I colored with some pretty and bright colors
and centered it on that DP.

I originally had a pretty yellowish-gold bow on this card, however, that color seemed to fade into the card background. So I opted to replace it with the teal ribbon you see here. I think that teal color looks great with the bright colors I used on those candles.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps:  Digital - Lily of the Valley , Rubber Stamp - Sentiment - Stampers Anonymous
Paper/Card Stock
: Yellow CS, Dark Gray CS, DP
Ink: VersaFine - Black
AccessoriesRibbon, Craft-Dee BowZ  tool, Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, Firefly Alcohol Markers

I am submitting my card to the following challenges:

Well, that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed my inspiration card, today, but I will be back Friday with an inspiration project for the February 1 challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ.
Hope to see you back here then.

a birthday wish

Hi there!!
Hope you are having a great day today!!!

WOW!!! Today is the last Tuesday of the month. This month flew by and so has the year so far.
I have an inspiration card to share with you for  Craft-Dee BowZ.

I saw a card on Pinterest that is similar to my design below, so it became my inspiration.

Let me share my card with you.

The only stamping on this card is the sentiment.
I wanted to keep this card kind of simple.
I left a bit of extra room at the bottom of the card for my bow to be placed.

Here are some measurements and other info

I used a pinked circle for the center opening of the panel
and used a striped DP placed diagonally for the circle background.
I added a slightly larger pinked circle border, I felt I needed to break up some of that white.
My candles are cut at 7/16" wide and I decided to use pastel colors.

I made the flames from a small egg-shaped punch.

I added a sentiment to a banner shape that I hand cut and added it right above the bow.

My bow - it's just a double stacked single looped bow. I think this is more of a fancy yet simple look. OK, is that a dichotomy description or what LOL.

Here is a close-up view of my bow.

I used some pink sheer ribbon and it was perfect for this cute card.

SUPPLIES I USED ON MY PROJECT

Happy Birthday in the Clouds

Hello everyone

Welcome to April!!

April - hmm, April Showers bring May flowers.
Wonder how much rain we will get this month.
March ended with a lot of rain here in the Greater Cincinnati area

Today is Easter, and it's April Fool's Day
Kind of an odd pairing isn't it.

April 1 is also the start of the next Craft-Dee BowZ challenge (and that's no joke)
 and this months sponsor is

Bugaboo Stamps

The winner will receive
4 digital images

I decided to use a darling image - Kidz Birthday Cloud

Adorable with the clouds and the balloons
A cute card for a little girls birthday

I colored the image and added glitter to the clouds and the stars.
After that, I inked some clouds to the background. Next, I added my bow to the right side of the card. And using the Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker tool enables me to easily make all my bows.

Here is a closer view of that bow

Using sheer ribbon will give you the best bows.
This is a triple loop bow and is a perfect size for my A-7 card size.

Yappy Birthday

Welcome back everyone,

Are you staying warm?? Well it's really cold here in the northern part of the south, otherwise known as Northern, Kentucky. I was invited to a birthday party for a darling 3 year old and who would want to miss that, even if it is 16 degrees out.  The party was held at a local pizzeria and we all had a wonderful time. Logan, the birthday boy himself, got so many gifts I think he got more that he did at Christmas. LOL

Let me share with you the card that I put together for his 3rd birthday.

I had the stamp of the dogs in my stash but I wanted to add something else to this card. It needed some more personality. LOL  What would be more appropriate than a dog house. I hand drew the dog house and then decided to make the house look like it was made of wooden siding. I added the siding boards (yellow card stock) to the cutout of the doghouse. I layered the siding starting from the bottom, working up, overlapping just like you see on a house. I trimmed the edges and then I then added the house trim in dark brown and used a black piece to give the opening some depth. I attached the dog house to the card front with dimensional foam. The paw prints are stamped in VersaMark and embossed with clear EP.

The sentiment is computer generated as is the inside sentiment. Coloring of the dogs and the front sentiment was done with my Spectrum Noir's

Logan's mom, Morgan, thought this card was so cute and I am so glad she liked it. She is saving this card so Logan can look back on the card and pics that Morgan took, when her gets older.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Great Impressions
Ink/Markers - India Ink, Spectrum Noir, VersaMark
Clear Detail EP
Cardstock - Mint Green, Yellow (siding), Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown
Dimensional Foam

I am submitting this card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping in and I will see you soon

Look what I received....

Hi All

Sorry, I haven't posted in a little while. Frank, my significant other, brought my birthday present home the other day, a cold. And boy it's been a duzy. I haven't had a cold for 4-5 years and I haven't had a flu shot in 3 years so I finally caught a cold. OK, now that I've explained my absence lets get on to more fun things..........

Well, I just have to share with you all, a card that I received for my birthday from Pat. The card came packaged in it's own little box. Now how cool is that.

Next, I untied the bow.............

and peeked inside

And here is the card that was inside,
very pretty isn't it!!

My birthday was Tuesday, and I received cards, gifts and calls from friends. Thanks to all of you, especially to Barb who left me a song. Loved it!!!

Well that is it for now, thanks for stopping by, see you soon, and.....

Happy Birthday Card

I was designing  a new card using the Happy Birthday set, set#416 from SparkleNSprinkle. I decided to use items from a few newer dies that I haven't used much. I also made a rosette from scratch. I also included an area using alcohol ink to the front half of the card.

I made the 2 flowers using the 3D Sizzix die, the flourishes are from a Tim Holtz Sizzix die and that  rosette is made from scratch and you can click here for a video that shows how easy it is to make your own rosette (if you don't own a die). I have added the video link to the left sidebar as well for future reference.

The alcohol ink colors I used are: Butterscotch, Mushroom and Denim. The flourishes are covered in Sparkling Snow Glitter from SparkleNSprinkle. I made the flowers using a die and just added a small pearl in the center of each of the flowers.  Hope this inspires you to use some of the cool tools you have on hand or to try a new technique to make your card.

That's it for now, see you soon and thanks for stopping by,

Getting ready for Christmas and a new Birthday Card design

I have been busy helping the elves get everything ready for Christmas. You know, Christmas is getting close and I am going to go out Monday and finish my shopping. I  don't have much left to buy. How about you? Are you finished. Are your gifts wrapped??? Are you ready??

I called a friend in Canada and they have had snow waist high. She has not been able to get to work for a few days and she lives 7 minutes from her job. Boy, I am glad that we haven't had that much snow here in Kentucky, 5" is enough for me. However the weatherman is calling for more snow here on Tuesday, so you know, I will be completing my shopping on Monday for sure.

For now, I wanted to share a card that I just finished for Sparkle N Sprinkle. This card will make a great birthday card no matter what time of year the birthday falls in. And you know, birthdays happen all the time.
Check out that punch design, it's a Kreaxions punch from Just Imagine Crafts. They have very unique designs and their punches serve double duty, they can punch borders as well as corners. I chose to just make a border with this punch. You might want to check these cool punches out.

I have one more card design that I will share with you on Sunday, so stop back for that card as well.
I need to start addressing my Christmas cards and get them mailed out. Time is flying by and if I am not careful, Christmas will be passing me by.

In the meantime stay warm and and finish your cards, projects, wrapping or whatever you have left to do.

Well that's it for now, thanks for stopping, see you soon, and stay calm, you will get it all done, (LOL)

Happy 13th Birthday to you, Sparkle N Sprinkle

Hi Everyone
The month of October is going to be one large birthday celebration for Sparkle N Sprnkle. They are 13, a teenager. What fun. There will be contests and prizes all month long.So make sure you visit often.
I made a shutter card for my birthday card and used a set that is in my stash. I used autumn colors and boy those colors look great with this set even though this set might be looked on as a summer set.I bet you have stamps in your stash will look great in fall colors even though the set looks like it fits in a different season.

A shutter card is not difficult to make even though it appears to be so. The directions for a basic shutter card are on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website. So make sure to go out there and check out those directions. Well that is it for now, don't forget to check the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog daily this month for fun games and PRIZES!!!

Well that is it for now, thanks for stopping, see you soon,
