Leave Room in your Garden

Hi there.
Hope you had a great week and now the weekend has started.Time for fun and time to get in your studio, to start being creative.

The other day, I started to work with a sentiment from Verses Rubber Stamps. As I read the sentiment,  I thought of a stamp set I had, that contained a fairy and some toad stools. It is a perfect match for the sentiment.

I know I mentioned that the sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps, but, have you checked out their online catalogue? They have so many stamps to choose from and they are all categorized, so it is easy to find what you are looking for.

Fairies and Butterflies

Hi There
Glad you stopped in today. For today's card I thought I'd use a fairy image that I've had in my stash for a good while. It's from Crafter's Companion and I love this one. She reminds me of a garden nymph.The colors for the Craft-Dee BowZ projects presented by the designers this month are to include shades of aqua, so you will see that color all month long in the Craft-Dee BowZ projects..

I used a designer paper and cut a panel and added a wide gathered lace piece to the mid section of the panel. I added a thin light turquoise ribbon to the edge of that lace. Over that I used 2 overlapped embossed ovals and I added ribbon to the center of the ovals and attached them to the card. Next I attached another oval, in turquoise, centering over the other ovals.  I then attached my fairy to the center oval. Next, I made a single loop bow using white organza ribbon. On top of that I added a double loop satin bow.

Here is a closer shot of that bow.

I had the prettiest aqua flowers ready to be used so I decided to add them to the bow, ringing the center area. I added a few sprigs and a few butterflies in the upper left corner of the card, and the card is done.

Guest Designer for Crafters Companion

Hi Everyone,
It's another rainy day here and the forcast is for rain all week.  Well you know what that means, time to craft and chase the rain away. (We hope.)

I just have to share this little bit of news with you all. I was chosen for the 1st guest designer spot for the month of May over at Crafters Companion. Isn't that exciting?!? They've posted a card I designed for Mother's Day using stamps from their company and there will be another card design that they will post later this month.

I used stamps from a set called Flower Fairies Zinnia stamp set. They also have other flower fairies sets and they are great too. Very detailed and very nice stamps. Check them out, I am sure you will find something that you will just love, like I did.

Joan's Gardens Challenge #10

Hello everyone.
I thought I'd share with you a card I made for the challenge at Joan's Gardens for this week.

Here is what Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge #10 is calling for:

Use the colors Pink and Green

Create a thank you card.

Use some kind of stripes

Use something scalloped

I just received a few new sets from Crafters Companion and this fairy is one of those sets.  I thought she would look perfect in pink and green.

I used my circle cutter from Just Imagine/Kreations to make the scallop and used Labels Four dies from Spellbinders and colored with Copic markers.

Sparkle N Sprinkle's Mystical Treasures Blog Hop Day 2

We will be sharing ideas with you for 3 days using the Dani’s Garden Umbrella, Dani’s Garden Swing, Fairy Dust, Dream Fairy, and Garden Fairies stamp sets. Today I used two stamps from the Dream Fairy Set, set # 395. The Heart Fairy(3141-395M) and the sentiment, Missing You (3144-395AA). I used printed paper for the background and tore it to fit on the cardstock but still show a small frame area. Next I used another printed paper to compliment the first print and tore a rectangle shape and mounted it onto the square print. Using cardboard pieces, I tore a piece that fits on the front of the card and wrapped lace over the cardboard, added twine to the piece and mounted to the card front center. Used Spellbinders oval dies to cut a smaller oval out of printed cardstock and stamped the sentiment onto the oval. Cut out of cardboard a slightly larger scalloped oval from the Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals set  and mounted the sentiment onto the cardboard and then positioned on upper left of card.I stamped Heart Fairy onto white cardstock, colored her in, added Sparkling Snow Glitter(G1003) on to her wings and her dress and cut her out. Using the same printed cardstock used on the sentiment,  I cut a slightly larger Scalloped Oval and mounted the fairy to the scalloped oval. I placed the oval with fairy over the lace on the card.

Sparkle N Sprinkle's Mystical Treasures Blog Hop Day 1

Straight from the Garden Fairies Set (Set 396), the Garden Fairy is sitting in the Mystical Mushroom Garden that I designed for you. I stamped the Garden Fairy and the mushroom images. Next I colored the stamped images with markers and applied Versamark over the colored images using the Versamark marker and covered the images with clear embossing powder and heat set. Next using a brayer I applied the green grass and the sunset sky background colors to the cardstock. Lastly I used the Fairy Willow Tree stamp to make the forest.
