Music is Life

Hello everyone
Thanks for stopping in today.

Today is the first Tuesday of the month and it's time for my project for Craft-Dee BowZ. Each month the challenge  theme for submitters to the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge is always Anything Goes. However, the designers have a theme for their Tuesday posts and our theme for May
 is Music to my Ears.

Well let me tell ya, I just had no musical themed items in my stash.
So off I went, on a quest, to find just the right items and I was very successful.

Let me share with you my finished card and then I will list below what I used.

This was a fun theme and I love all the items I was able to add to the card.

My bow was made with satin ribbon and I made a triple loop bow.

Here is a closer view.

I used my CDB bow maker to make this bow.
I love this tool, it's easy to use and easy to store or even travel with.

Stamps, a Mask and an Airbrush

I was rummaging around in my studio the other day and came across a Tim Holtz mask that I hadn't used yet. Imagine that!!! So, first I used it sponging ink over the mask. It looked pretty good. Next I got really adventuresome and got my Copic Air Brushing System out and tried that. Whoa.................. the airbrush turned out amazing. The mask I used is called concerto, it's been out a few years, so it's not new on the market. Since I just received a new music set, set 424 from Sparkle N Sprinkle last month, I used some of those stamps and designed this new card.(Click here to view the new stamp set 424.)

I also used a vellum sheet and airbrushed some black onto it to have it kind of match the colors on the background of the card. Next I made an oval rosette. The oval shape was easy to achieve. Click here for my rosette tutorial. So, here is my first card with an airbrushed background. I hope you like it as much as I do.

By the way, Sunday, Sparkle N Sprinkle is teaming up with Really Reasonable Ribbon for a blog hop. There will be blog candy awarded from both companies, so, make sure to participate Sunday on a great hop. Clicking here will take you to the Really Reasonable Blog. You are sure to get great ideas and inspiration from everyone participating. Make sure to leave comments to be eligible for the blog candy.
So, I look forward to seeing you Sunday on a great blog hop.

That's it for now, thanks for stopping, see you soon,

I Have Been Published and some new card designs for you

WOW!!!!!     I have been published in the March issue of CardMaker Magazine on pages 16 and 17. The March issue is on the newsstands  right now. That's so exciting!!! Here is a link to an online extra to see one of the designs that I submitted. Here are 2 more photos of items that I submitted. The photos of the items in the magazine are so much better than these pic's so you'll want to check out the magazine. If you get a copy of the CardMaker magazine, make sure to look at the complete instructions outlined on the two pages.

The stamps I used are Sparkle N Sprinkle's medallion stamps. I really like using medallion stamps because you can get double duty out of the stamps. You can just stamp the image once and get a great image as seen on the pink card below. However, if you stamp the image multiple times and then cut those images out, you can add dimensional foam and achieve a 3-D raised look. Those looks are so cool on cards, boxes, gift bags and many other things. I have added a raised dimensional medallion to the gold/yellow pillow box.

I just had to share that piece of exciting news with everyone.

Boy, I have had a busy few weeks so that's why it's been quiet here on the blog. But, behind the scenes, I've been quite busy designing about 8 or 9 new cards and I thought today I would share a few cards with you that I just completed.

Cards designed using new stamp sets.
These cards are using stamps from three new stamp sets 424, 427 and 428 from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Click on the link and check out those new sets. If you like music themed stamps or if you are looking for new music themed stamps, I think you are going to love these new releases.

Stop back tomorrow for additional cards with new designs, so until then.........
    Thanks for stopping by
