Journaling supply bag

This is my journaling bag and I was so happy to find a Franklin Covey 7 hole punch for my personal journal at the thrift store for only $1.00. It is so easy now.

So I bought the bag at Harbor Freight tools just for my journaling supplies. It is just like my art bag but I have not painted it yet. Not sure I will. I have pens, gel pens, fine tip markers, Highlighters, pencils, eraser, colored pencils, sm stencils, rulers, sissors, washi tape, glue, hole punch, dry erase markers. a pouch with stickers and cut ours in it, and misc.
So when I sit down to either work in my person journal or art journal or bible study journal I have my bag right beside me. It is compact and easy to move any were I choose to journal which is some times out side.
Have a blessed weekend!

1John 5:1-5
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ] has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2 We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. 3 Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 5 And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Art Sketchbook Bag- Painted

Just an update as I added a few more flowers with a little more color.

Remember my plain art sketchbook bag? I decided to paint it and it is finally finished. It has taken me three days to get it all done. First I choose the colors for the background  as I went along. I did use the color wheel for this but subdued the colors so the lettering would show up. I choose my favorite colors and ones that complimented each other
I drew up some ideas of what I wanted on each side. Then I started. I don't know about you but when the creative ideas start to come I have a hard time quiting. I just don't want to stop till the project is done. So I didn't get a lot of sleep in these few days. I was just having too much fun!
So below are pics of the process and sides.

All this goes in my bag.
What I learned as I did this:
As I was a little afraid to start, I asked the Lord to help me with it and he did.)
When I Painted on some of the acrlyic paint, it worked best to use a  sm wet sponge to move it around on the canvas.
To water down the paint a little too.
It is my art bag, so I painted words, art, designs and colors that I liked. The things that would inspire me to want to use all my supplies that it holds.
I had to remember it is only paint and I can always change it.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
This is now a pretty addition to my art room and I love to look at it and USE it!  So I am a little behind in my sketch chellenge but will catch up soon.
If you do paint your own art bag please let me know. I would love to see it!! Feel free to use any of my ideas, but I am sure you will come up with some great ideas of your own!
Hope you enjoyed this post and are inspired!
Have a blessed creative day!

Everyday Art Sketchbag and why I like it.

I know another art bag you say. This is the one I use all the time. The cup is just a reference to the size of it..
It is the Riggers bag from Harbor Freight tools.
 And it was only $8.95.
 It is 15" long, 81/2 " high, 7"wide with 24 pockets.
Brenda Swenson   recommends this one also.
I took some of the stitching out with an Exacto knife to make a few pockets bigger as she suggested.
I sprayed it with Scotch Gard to keep it a little cleaner.
It has so much room for everything I like to use on a regular bases.
I love that it sits flat and upright on its own and is 7" wide.
It goes with me where ever I want to sit and draw or paint.( I don't sit at my art table very often)
I like it because everything is easy to reach for and easy to put back. ( no zippers to mess with and no having to search for things).
I have a label maker, so I used clear tape and labeled all my pockets.--
It makes it easier for me to make sure it gets put back were it belongs.
Silly I know, but the label maker was staring at me and I like to be organized.
I put tissue paper in  the bottom of some of the pockets that were too deep.
I still have lots of extra room if I need it.
You can put gromets on it so you can attach a shoulder strap if you wanted to, as Brenda suggested.
When I come up with something, I may do some decorative painting on it. It is a blank canvas!
For me it is the perfect art bag and I love it!!
I thought about this bag for a yr before I bought it because I was not sure it was the one I would like best.
So  maybe think about it before you decide that you would really use it. I don't want to influence anyone if you don't really need it.  But you can always use it for a tool bag that it was make for. I would think it would be useful for a writer, scrapbooking, art class, sewing, gardening, house cleaning tools, medical stuff, cosmetic bag, just about any thing you can think of.

Our talents are a gift of God and we are to use them with a thankful heart for any ability to do good.
Have a happy creative day!
