(AP) — The reported birth of a rare white buffalo in Yellowstone National Park fulfills a Lakota prophecy that portends better times, according to members of the American Indian tribe who cautioned that it’s also a signal that more must be done to protect the earth and its animals. “The birth of this calf is both a blessing and warning. We must do more,” said Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the spiritual leader of the Lakota, Dakota and the Nakota Oyate in South Dakota, and the 19th keeper of the sacred White Buffalo Calf Woman Pipe and Bundle.

Happy Winter Solstice! Today is always significant day here in the Boyne Valley. ✨ As the shortest day of the year, today also marks a time where the sun can be seen rising above Newgrange. On a clear day, the sunlight filters into its more than 5,200 year old burial chambers and illuminates its passage. A spectacular sight for the lucky few that are granted access to behold this event, as the sun rises higher, the beam widens so that the whole chamber is dramatically illuminated. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to live in such close proximity to the jewel in the crown of Ireland's Ancient East. It’s just one of the reasons we were compelled to name our business 'Newgrange Gold'. 💛
