Easy Milk Tart recipe, Melk tert
Condensed Milktart 1 Tin Condensed Milk, 3 cups water, 6 tbsp Maizena, 2 eggs - yolk & whites seperated, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tsp vanilla essence, Tennis biscuits. Heat condensed milk in water. Mix Maizena with little water & mix with mil. Stir mixture until thick & remove from heat. Add egg yolks (beaten) & boil until done. Add butter & essence. Layer tennis biscuits in dish & pour over mixture. Sprinkle cinnamon over. Cool down & serve.
South African Recipes - LEMON CUSTARD TART (Wenresepte 2000, pg 123) Ingredients: 1 can condensed milk/caramelised condensed milk 1 container/package (8 oz./226 g) Cream Cheese 1 grated lemon rind ½ cup lemon juice 1-2 packs Tennis biscuits or any substitute (Graham crackers, Arnott's Nice biscuits, Maria’s, Nilla wafers, Krispies Coconut – add a sprinkle of coconut on top) ½ cup orange juice 3 cups thick, cold custard Method: Beat the condensed milk, cream cheese, lemon rind and lemon juice until well mixed. Keep 1-2 biscuits aside for the topping. Just before using, dip the rest of the biscuits quickly in the orange juice. They must be just moist, not mushy. Layer a row biscuits in a square or rectangular dish. Smear a layer of the condensed milk mixture following with a layer custard. Repeat the layers until everything is used.
