About
Fascinated by the artisanal quality and the graphic play of lines, surfaces and directions, of the works by Versailles carpenters. The refined details, the precision in execution, and the love for free experimentation. Using the same eye for detail we created a playful pattern which has been formed by hand into a three-dimensional wooden rug. The rug is made up of multiple graphic overlays which makes for a piece that remains fascinating to look at due to its complexity in form. Fully constructed with the finest European oak, and configured out of 500+ unique pieces, we created the 2.5m diameter Wooden rug.
Like an enormous puzzel, all the individual pieces are a unique fit. Each piece is handmade and handshaped.
Natural mix of the goldish brass and the patinated brown and green hues.
Each piece has given the time and space to shape a fitting structure.
The full piece can be seen as a combination of old versaille flooring, in combination with a futuristic galaxy pattern.
Solid oak is oiled to a warm brown colour.
