From childcare to a flexible career as a Laundry Lady: Meet Renee, our Adelaide-based Laundry Lady. Just over a year ago, Renee was working in childcare, frequently getting sick, and struggling to find a flexible work routine that fit her family’s needs. “I wanted to be home with my children and have more flexibility with my work,” Renee shares in her interview. That’s when she came across The Laundry Lady and decided to give it a go as a side hustle. After just a few months, her bookings steadily increased, and she decided to open her availability on more days to see where it would take her. Now, The Laundry Lady is her primary source of income, and she’s loving the flexibility it brings — allowing her to spend more time with her kids, watch her favourite shows, and enjoy a good coffee in Adelaide between pickups.
