Metaphors Worksheets and an Introduction PowerPoint
This metaphors lesson features a 21-slide PowerPoint, four practice worksheets, and a matching PowerPoint companion handout. The first slide of the PowerPoint provides a metaphor definition and an example. The remaining slides feature sentences and paragraphs, and students must identify and explain the metaphor found within. The four metaphor worksheets are designed for independent practice. Students will identify metaphors and write their own metaphors. The last few slides of the PowerPoint and one of the worksheets is designed to give students an opportunity to differentiate between metaphors and similes.
