strawberries arranged in the shape of letters on a white surface
DoorDash: Food, Grocery and Retail - Fast Same Day Delivery
What’s the only fruit with seeds on the outside? Sorry, smarties, it’s not the strawberry. The “seeds” on the outside of a strawberry are actually small individual fruits with seeds inside – the delicious part of the strawberry is actually the expanded base of the strawberry flower. Fruits by definition always have seeds on the inside. 🍓 #DashFacts

Chile Peppers
New Mexico is serious about chili peppers - sorry, “chile” peppers. Former Senator Pete Domenici once put the state's official position on the spelling into the US Congressional Record, clarifying that chili with an 'i' is what is “passed off as food in Texas and Oklahoma.” It’s not only the chile that burns in New Mexico. 🌶 #DashFacts

Sichuan
Some of the spiciest Chinese food comes from Sichuan, but it’s not just the chili pepper that’s responsible for its famous zing. The culprit: the Sichuan peppercorn, actually the hull of a small fruit related to citruses, which causes a tingly numbing feeling in the mouth. #DashFacts 🥡🔥

Spring has sprung! Anytime someone tries to tell you that edible flowers are a new food trend, just point to artichokes, broccoli, cauliflower, or jasmine tea and say, “Oh yeah, I’ve been into edible flowers forever.” 🌼 #DashFacts

Pizza
Mmm, Italian food: pasta and red sauce, pizza... also with red sauce. It might not have ended up this way: the first tomatoes brought from the New World to Italy were yellow, not red. Even the word for tomato in Italian, “pomodoro,” means “golden apple.” How close were we to a world of spaghetti and yellow sauce? #DashFacts 🍕🍝

Cloves
Cloves: a classic scent of the holidays used in roasted ham, spiced cider, fruitcakes, rice pudding and more. They may look hard and brown, but they’re actually dried flower buds. Oh, and clove oil is also a natural anesthetic that’s used to stun fish, so maybe just use a pinch. #DashFacts

Wasabi
That little green mound of “wasabi" that comes with your favorite rolls? It’s probably horseradish, tinted green! 🍣🥢 While horseradish and wasabi are in the same family of plants, real wasabi is difficult to grow outside of its native Japan and tastes more herbal. #DashFacts
